Closed READ ME! Broken save files.

Do no use blink teleport on your ship while it's warping between planets. It will teleport your character outside the ship and will crash the game. Now my save files, even backup ones, are corrupted. I tried creating a new character and renaming save files, but didn't work. If someone knows how to fix corrupted files, let me know. Thank you.

 

They supposedly fixed this in Unstable. Try switching and then loading the character.

 

Didn't help. Now my friend has same issue.

solution who forked fine for me:
downloading "starcheat"
backup savedata first
loading corrupted character in starcheat
exporting .json
editing it, finding the last of the "position" entry who should have an absurd value (like -1097098209274207) and putting something like 1024 instead
importing .json back
saving
