why? in games such as skyrim and terraria when we choose our appearance at the beggining of the game we are stuck with it for the rest of the game. perhaps we can change our appearance in game like we can at the start like in borderlands 2 or runescape imagine if they released a new race. do you want to start from the beggining just to use it? if not then vote yes. How to change appearance: theres a merriad of ways to change your appearnce( and no, i do not know what merriad means ) you could open your drawers, go to a barber in town, use a dna changin machine, if you choose to change your appearance however you go back to the character creation screen to edit your character, Does it cost anything? do you want it to costs money? my suggestion is that you can change your appearnce whenever you want as opposed to other games where you can only change your appearance at the start im not asking for more customisation or dna mixing hope that clears thing up!. sorry about highlighting keywords and making them extremely large.
Get Apex DNA and mix it with you till you re almost 100% apex! But yeah, i would like this. Maybe it would give an use to sitting in chairs? (With scissors in hand?)
Other races dna was not specified in their suggestion. so it doesnt bring that sorta thing up to the developers. but more customisation would be nice so i will look at thier thread in more detail.
ok, will have a look know. guess i missed the parts about mixing dna with other races. but in my opinion our suggestions should stay separate. they obviously go very well together. and it only makes sense to mention it in your thread. but we go about it in two very different ways. its like two people asking for the ability to fly one suggests superman style flight the other suggests airplanes. great minds think alike i guess.

Why wouldn't it? They have this exact concept in Borderlands 2, and really you only ever see your own character in menus in that game. IMO its not down to how well it works, but whether or not Chucklefish wants their game headed in this direction. Its possible they would allow this as a late game thing, kind of like the decisions they've made with racial crafting. I'm thinking this will be a post-launch thing though (or a mod perhaps.) They most likely have enough on their plate as it is. Still a good idea though!
There are two ways to change your appearance in Skyrim. 1. If you have Dawnguard, you can change your face via Galathil in the ratway. 2. Using the "showracemenu" console command. If Starbound has console commands, why not add a change appearance command?
ewww console commands. they make me want to cheat and never play the game as it was meant to be played.
I completely agree. More than once it came this way: I launch a new game, excited about everything, create my character, fiddle quite a bit with his/her appearance, play game a while/a lot and then find that I don't really like my hastily made appearance choice. Then I either have to suck it up and play with character I don't enjoy to look up or to suck it up and create a new character, probably completely similar to one I already have except appearance. And I don't like to suck it up. Yes, Skyrim has plastic surgery, Fallout 3 had one too. This is very good and convenient feature.
its not possible to do for console players who dont own the dlc. and not every one wants console commands as they feel like they are cheats i like how you can change your appearance in borderlands 2 after you start however. thats the sort of thing i would like.

I think the only time i';d use this, Is when TIY posts the post-realease races he promised. I want my dog race, but am gonna settle for plant people. but when they come out. I don't wanna start from scratch, I wanna have all my stuff and stats and such. if I couldn't, i'd almost feel punished for playing the game from the start.
Yes! I hate it when my appearance is permanent in some games and I cant change it It will be possible by save editing like in terraria, perhaps
Yeah, this sounds like a good, but pretty basic idea. I'm pretty sure the reason Terraria didn't have it for one thing, that it seemed like kind of a test to see how good they actually were. This also wasn't really that necessary in Terraria because, unless you wanted to change your gender or be black (or white) (or asian) (or latino) your armor covered it up even early in the game.
