Rarest items in Starbound ?

Name them!

 

Wizard scroll? There hasn't really been anyone trying to post the coordinates of this, so I would say this cape is rare.

Also, santa bag cape is rare. I don't think it's even in the game files yet.

 

Wizard Scroll is due to it being randomly in Glitch Castle chests.. There isn't a fixed 100% spawn location/planet due to random chance.. It could be in the first chest you open in a Glitch Castle... It could be in the 20th chest you open.. It depends on how bored the RNG gods are and if they choose you to be their entertainment..

 

Yep. I figured. I found it on some alpha planet on a glitch castle.

 

I'm betting that the rarest thing is the toxic flower backpack, which is a super rare spawn in toxic flowers, only item on the wiki I haven't found. Which has taken a heck of a long time.

 

Tell me more about this. I've read up on it but I thought it wasn't implemented yet.

 

I got one on my spawn world with my current character.. It was day 3 after buying the game, but day 1 with that character (Due to Angry Koalas dividing by zero, thus destroying the universe and such..)

 

How did you find it?

 

A tier 1 legendary called the octopus slasher or something similar. And it's a wee bit better than an average t1 weapon.

I never get good drops.

 

Toxic sub-biome.. I am pretty sure it was a Toxic Chest.. It has been a while and given how horrible my memory is, I could be mistaken.. Also sub-biomes appear on any planet, but limited to 1 per planet.. I think it was a forest and toxic world.. I quickly left the planet due to massive meteors.. That starting world was extremely hostile.. ESPECIALLY to someone just starting out.. Only redeeming feature of the mud ball was the fiber trees so I can have a limitless supply of bandages.. Also, the metal trees with cotton ball leaves look nice..

FYI Metal Wood is a crafting ingredient for an item in my crafting list.. No idea where to find it..

 

It is supposed to give a lot of energy regen during daytime, but I haven't found one to test it. I know other people have it, based off of other people's post, but I've yet to find one in any chest that they provide. My guess is it is always a in the chests with random contents, never the ones with fixed.

 

I've clocked in about 115 hours in game, now, and here are a few neat things:

wizard scroll backpack - can confirm, glitch castle chests
waterswords / bonehammers / tesla rods - legendary (purple) weapons w/ varying dps
grenade launcher - "duderizer," legendary cluster grenade launcher. love this thing. + its 1-handed! super slow firing speed, but >200 damage for a direct hit
Hiker backpack - wish i could remember where i found it
Rum barrel backpack - lol
Steampunk Goggles - look awesome, haven't found since the character wipe

 

Star Cleavers are pretty rare, I've only found one of these by complete chance in a high-tech chest.

Also, inb4 omg superior brain so rare it took me 10years to get it i hate this part of the game rant rant rant.

 

I found the "Toxic Flower Backpack" the first few days of release...It does give you more energy regen when out of caves on the surface in the sun...idk how significant the %tage of regen will be at end game, but in early / mid games, it will keep your character dashing / firing teh lasers all day.
