Random npc started following me....

I was exploring some random glowy caverns

And i ran into a flowery firefly infested village

I started looting houses for those cool little party lights and bandages

I talked to the owner of one of the houses who was a balding middle aged fish dude

and he said

"I wonder if other species will finally start to accept us"

He said "us"

I was a fish dude as well so this made sense (grade a programming right there fishes know if your a fish)

But any way when i left he started following me

when i stopped he stopped directly on top of me

which was annoying

i coudnt swing my weapons for fear of killing fish bro

So i have a question?

Did the developers add something where if i talk to a member of my own race he/she will follow me to death?

or is it talking to any npc make them your companion.


Also he said the word "us" does that mean i married to this balding fish guy?

 

I don't think its a glitch. Lots of Npcs will follow you depending on what they say. And when he says us he probably means your entire race as a whole. As you probably already know Hylotls aren't the best race when it comes to relations with other races. Also their eyeballsss are tassty.

 

"Hey!! Get away from my girlfriend's eyeballs"

Friendly NPCs often follow you for a while when you talk to them. I once had an Avali insult me as they are wont to do, then follow me around everywhere. I shot him with my squirtgun to no avail, so I ended up with this soggy Avali chasing after me, dripping everywhere and grinning like an idiot.

Even if you don't talk to them, NPCs sometimes start following you. They follow each other, too. It's just their basic programming to make them seem alive.

 

Alive and extremly creepy.

 

I noticed... the moment I talked to some random NPC, they would do ANYTHING to be near me, I literally run thru buildings filled with em without uttering a single word, just to avoid having such followers ready to lemming themselves into oblivion... kinda rude since I steal most of their furniture in the process and rob em blind without even saying Hi!

 

Are you implying that stealing all their furniture and robbing them blind would be less rude if you stopped to say "hi"?

 

Of course! everybody knows that you need to stop, bow properly and with manners, smile and confidently say Hi! before continuing on completing your furniture collection! or as Jakobs munitions would put it "bow respectfuly before shooting their heads off with a bullet"

 

If it took more than one shot, you weren't using a Jakobs !
