Will random stuff that happens rarely be implemented in Starbound? Like Blood Moons in Terraria or rare encounters like the Spider Jockey in Minecraft.
I don't completely get what you mean by this, do you mean just rare things or actually random events such as someone teleporting you to somewhere else and getting special things for completing these events?
This isn't Runescape. He meant something like a Blood Moon. Something like, every once in awhile, there would be an alien invasion or a blackout or a meteor shower.
Yeah, something like an old man teleporting you to a giant maze and giving you a box as reward so you can summon a genie to give you a lamp. Just kidding! Thanks for the information
Then, what would the lamp have in it? As said, this is not runescape, it is not a completely online game that someone will come and steal your friends randomly. The blood moon most likely will still be in this but, there should be more things.
I like the idea of a planet wide blackout, where all electrical stuff just ceases to work for a day/night
Well I was thinking more light switches and machines, so you have to use torches or a table, and weapons that don't use batteries
How exactly would a planet just not have electricity all of a sudden? The only thing that would make this possible is an EMP.
How bout an electromagnetic force that emanates from the planet at random working like a constant steady EMP there you go a logical way for this to work Also devs already confirmed there WILL be random events and quests, plus they'll have the directors edition they hope to put in the game post launch which allows mods and admins on servers to create quests and events and control NPC's and stuff, kinda can't wait for that.
A world wide blackout would be awesome. We need events that induce some fear. Anyone remember how scary the blackout was in Luigi's Mansion? And probably some good random events, too, like a friendly NPC shows up that sells cool stuff.
Yes. I'm 100% sure. "There are random events for each planet, so something may randomly fall from the sky for instance." (Dev)
