Random beeping?

So lately I have been hearing a random 1 beep at a time, every once in a while, but only when I have Starbound launched, is this the game or my laptop? I literally have no idea what it is, please help!

i'm getting a beep when a creature sees me, rather than their 'roar'. is that what you are hearing?

 

I've noticed random beeping. It happened when I was lagging. Perhaps a symptom of the application nearly crashing due to lag?

i've get 2-3 beep today , maybe from server.exe idk.

 

I hear a phone dialing a number when I beam up.

 

Considering the age of this thread, the original beep sound came from something that isn't in the game at the moment. It is a near death beep, as in freeze, hunger, and low health. As for what it is now. I have no clue as I, like a few others, have not heard this beep. Could be many things really, but not the original answer to this thread for obvious reasons. hmm...

 

I have those beeps rarely when I teleport from a planet to my ship. It's just some little bug for me.

 

I have this sound perm. in-game. As soon as i launch/start the game...confusing, i took of my headphones and was thinking my mobile phone was ringing...i did that every min i think. Plz, plz....plz fix this and the GUI disapear randomly after some playtime (an hour or soo)!

 

I'm getting a beeping as well when i beam back to the ship. it sounds like a phone when you press a number.

 

I'll have to pay attention the next few time I beam down, but might be a feature. Think of it as dialing down coordinates if only happens at beaming down/up... Makes me a bit curious...

I've been getting that too, some but not all of the times I beam up.

 

Same here, dialing a number beeb here occasionally on beam ups.

Hopefully it isn't the BIOS informing you that your CPU is overtemp.

 

It's assetmissing.wav. Haven't figured out which asset yet though.

 

Yep, it's caused by a missing asset. This drove me crazy as well, so I just uploaded a fix. [Link]

 

Can also confirm I get this upon random teleports. Usually to my ship.
