Closed Ranches, orchards, and farms

So, a few questions.

One, I know there are already chickens in the organic form and the robotic form, but is it possible to actually create a ranch from them? As in, if you capture them and place them in your own pen, will they breed and become more? Two, will there be other mobs that will have a defined droplist that would be expected to show up on a ranch?

Now that we have saplings that can drop seeds, will we be able to breed different tree types together, so that we can get fertile (many leaf sections) trees made of objects that aren't as common (metal, rainbow, etc)? And will fruit trees become proper trees?

 

I would love to be able to raise chickens. I hope in time we can do more farming in this game.
