Hello. This suggestion is that you should be able to craft "Racial blocks" depending on your race. For example. I am an Avian, and I want to live in an avian temple. But, I need to scour several planets to find an actual temple, and then I need to spend ages mining it. My suggestion is that, for 5 pixels a block, you can craft blocks that would be found in racial dungeons, like Floran Prisons, and such. Also, you could craft the decorations you find in the Dungeon with the bricks. Like the Avian Altar's, or the Glitch Thrones, or the Floran Vine Light things. Alternatively, instead of 5 pixels, you could have it so its made out of expendable resources. Humans = Glass Avians = Sand (Any Colour) Glitch = Cobblestone (Any colour) Florans = Plant Fibre Hylotl = Wood Apex = Glass You unlock all recipes for your racial crafting at character creation. However, to unlock other races things, you would need to buy a "racial crafting book" from vendors of the race you want. Using it would unlock that races blocks and crafting. Simply, I think you should be able to create a racial base without having to go through an annoying process. And I realize you can use a 3D printer for furniture, but it seems expensive for something cosmetic.
I second this, it would be nice just from an aesthetics point of view. I think racial blocks should be made of the respective material and not just 5 pixels, like Glitch bricks be made from cobblestone bricks.
I freakin' LOVE this idea. It's way too much of a pain - even with a diamond drill - to get enough blocks to do all that much with the racial themed stuff, and this would be perfect for encouraging people to build stuff.
My poor floran had to ssstab all floran prisoners and the guards to get all the floran blocks. Ok, she likes ssstabbing everyone and everything, but despite of that it was a lot of work and you're not sure if you don't need another extra-block or this and that extra-item. That's why I farmed a lot more then needed, which result in needed storage (for blocks or some items, which cost a lot being printed with 3D printer). Would love it very much By different aspects. Would enrich the game and satisfaction a lot
I'd love this, there are already some mods that do this and I think they will implement it, we have so few crafting recipe atm.
That sounds like a good idea, but I don't want to make it so you have to "grind" for it. I'll see what I'll do.
How about requiring something like blueprints for each of the different blocks, with each races already knowing his/her blocks? You could then allow for obtaining blueprints in a variety of ways, such as finding them, trading, or crafting them by say...finding the blocks and breaking them down on some machine which stores their information.
Yep and this is how food items work now, it would make sense for some building materials to work the same way.
Good idea, weapons are already racial and it takes forever to loot the walls of a solid steel Apex lab and then replace it for a base, as a result my bases are cramped because of a lacking "Distinct" racial material. This would be awesome.
At least the Apex can print out most of their blocks from the portable pixel printer. Sure they're expensive, but it's still a whole lot easier than trying to hunt down enough floran dungeons for leaves to build a gigantic tree.
