Hello guys! I´m new here and find about this game only two days ago!

I'm here to talk about the racial abilities:

All I read about the racial differences is about "the racial abilities is an armor racial power". I dislike this concept!! The races have different biologic systems, environment and behavior, soo is too sad thinking all this difference is because the vestment he uses, and another completely different life organism can be have the same "powers" only going to a interspacial merchant and buying an armor....

To make the things better and not completely destroy the racial armor systems, I got a idea:

All races have a racial trait bound to his race. And the racial armor makes a upgrade in this racial trait. The racial armor in another race give to the user the original race racial trait. By example, an avian without any armor can make some glide, with his racial armor the glide are extended. A starchild without any armor glows faintly, with his racial armor, the glow is stronger.

    What's your think about this?

    Welcome to the forums.

The reason behind the decision to make the armors hold the abilities instead of the races themselves is so people don't feel compelled or repelled by playing one race or another. Example being if the human racial is most appealing but you want to make a floran they don't want you to be punished for not playing what you like. The other reason for the armors is that every race can learn every other race's armors. They just get their own either automatically or faster. So nothing is permanent. Also in your suggestion, the racials just further augmenting the racial, you are essentially telling people for max effectiveness, you have to play a certain way or use a certain setup. That's no fun.

Perhaps once the game comes out and we learn a bit more in this area it will be better for you or make more sense.

the reason this won't happen is because well...it's a sandbox game! it would force players to play a certain way just because they have the right trait for the job. if you stick armor perks then you can play what ever fashion you want and everybody has access to the same abilities that everyone has. no upper hand and it forces you to think rather than hoping your race has enough rage stacks or your health regen is enough.

    example!

Floran would have an energy regen perk. if the perk stays at a consistent rate of regen then the perk itself becomes void because the weapons would use up too much energy too quickly + your energy pool would be too massive to regen in a timely fashion

armor perk style : scale it with the right level regen trait then it doesn't matter. it all comes down to your tier.

it all comes down to armor perks being a far more efficient system.

I would just like to see a leveling system honestly. I think that would be fine for a game like this. Also racial bonuses/traits would be kind of cool.
Although they have said multiple times that leveling/traits aren't going to be a thing in their game. :d

    Holy double thread, Batman!

I actually like the idea of armors giving abilities. You also have to take into consideration there is also a perk system thats going to be in the game, and they might be good.
