Races main traits?

No offense, but that's a bit of a stretch. I admit my understanding of the creature may be polluted by assumptions I've made about it for my machinima (where it is firmly in the real of "extremely dangerous animal"), but it doesn't strike me as a madness-inducing, non-euclidean horror. Juvenile forms are approachable enough (at least at first), that human characters bring one aboard their ship as a pet. Though it ends very badly, it's hard for me to imagine a Lovecraftian creature would inspire anything but terror and madness, even in larval form. Plus, you know, Cthulu belongs to a completely different universe and while Starbound makes some references to other franchises, it doesn't borrow characters in their entirety.

 

Like I said, it's just a theory.

 

I beliebe firmly that the tentacle... abomination thing came from a meteorite, if my memory is right. Humans simply had the flaw of not being able to colonize other planets for whatever limitation it is that they had.

The Apex player character seems to be the most straightforward on his quotes when inspecting stuff, with the Avian being the second most straightforward (since it seems that some of the stuff you find is a bit foreign to them (they never used electricity anyway))

 

Oh yeah! I think I remember that before. If we can find a source to back up this statement, my theory is just forever a theory.

 

I cannot find a source to specify that, but according to one of the holograms in the ark, the tentacle abomination was indeed a force from outside the Earth.

 

That reminded me of some lore: according to Greenfinger, the tentacle beast did indeed land on Earth from space.

The Floran character you play as isn't anything special either. He's just a stabby brute...who might want some friends on the side.

Avian: Friendly, Compassionate, Curious.
Human: Well rounded, charismatic (good leaders), Naive, Adventurous.
Hylotl: Hypocritical, Pacifist, Snobbish, Naive.
Apex: Intelligent, Determined, Athletic.
Floran: Violent, Enthusiastic, Curious, Mechanically Minded.
Glitch: Logical, Curious, Chivalrous, Intelligent.
Novakid: Cocky, Adventurous, mechanically minded, short attention span.

Please correct me if you think any of these are wrong.

 

I'd say the Novakid are more naive than cocky.
