This is simply the idea that races can craft their own respective furniture. Because as it is, in order to create our own village, or our race-oriented-build-theme house, we have to raid planet after planet for said racial furniture or spend hours and hours collecting pixels and refining ore to print them off because they cost upwards of 2000 pixels a piece. NOTE: I hate re-posts just as much as you, but after scanning the first 15 pages of this section, I couldn't find this suggestion.
Ya that's been really bugging me, it's not a huge problem but it just doesn't fit or make sense that you can't make your own races furnishings.
+1 We should be able to make our characters feel at home! If we're gonna colonize, we're going to do it our way (the way of whatever race you chose), right?
Completely agree, this should be in the released version of Starbound. It's not like it's that hard, they have racial recipes already for cooking so most of the coding should be simple.
This is also a +1 for me. For a RP point of view, stealing from other people shouldn't be a necessity.

I agree that this makes sense. Why can't a Floran craft Floran furniture? Why can't an Avian craft Avian Furniture? And why must we rely solely on the 3D printer and raiding for such things? I'd love more blueprints, a blueprint/furniture merchant(s), or the plain ability to craft ones' race's furniture.
or make a distress signal have a small chance around 10%...ship flies over , pilot waves/flips you off , tosses out a crate that contains one single blueprint for a racial merchant... or something to that extent...
I 100% agree with this. I hate having to steal furniture to get a race-themed house. And if NPC AI comes out that makes them agressive when you steal, this will become even more of an issue.
I wouldn't doubt this would be a thing later on after release. But I would like our respective furniture to be crafted as an option, yes. +1 CHIRP
Hm... I think, we could fix it like this. Each Race, gets a 'Racial' Crafting table that allows you to make furniture for your race and etc. And you get the basic furniture, chair, couch, tables, bed, and lights. And to get more exotic racial blue prints, you need to find a village that has a 'furniture/general' store seller/merchant. And later on in builds, when we get ships and etc, how about merchant ships? Stuff like that, someway to get our homes feeling like homes...
yes I strongly agree with this because I am a floran and I belt a awesome house with full furnishing but when I reached a floran village it made my house look like crap. I WANT THAT FURNETURE WITHOUT RAIDING OR SPENDING 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000 PIXELS COME ON CUCKLE FISH HELP US
I especially want this for the Hylotl furnature; considering I want to decorate my house with superior craftsmanship, but there is no Hylotl houses or bases or cities to raid for materials. I am also quite a fan of the grounded avian furniture, but I just feel bad going to a poor grounded town and ripping off everything that is nailed down in front of them. So now I have resorted to spawning a boss or two to kill all the inhabitants so I can raid their city to my hearts content, with out feeling guilty or getting blood on my hands. And just a random question. Is there plans to make each of the starter ships have unique backgrounds and lighting fixtures? Because right now they all have the same dull florescent lights and grey walls, all except the Hylotl who have rice walls and paper lanterns.
Putting a vote in the positive for this one. It only makes sense and having to randomly find racial furnishings can be a pain.
Would be useful for everyone. Of course, I have all of these things already scanned... Unless you can make racial building blocks, as well.
To be honest I think the 3D Printer should be phased out and replaced with your character being able to learn blueprints for any item they sacrifice one of.
Previously there was a mod that did this but it has been abandoned it seems. http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?resources/species-starter-furniture-tiles.251/ I hope this will come to Starbound again some day. It really would add so much more life to buildings.
