Fairly self explanatory, though the concept would be that each disease has a unique effect on it's host, sometimes useful, and in other cases, not so much, and can only be contracted(and spread) by said host's species. For instance, a novakid could potentially contract "Gasous redux syndrome", which would cause the gasses inside of him to shrink to a smaller volume. This would make him half of his original size, meaning he could squeeze into smaller tunnels, but it would also slow him down considerably, and he could not jump as high. Or, a florjsakdcv-whatever-ians could contract some kind of plant-based parasitic infection, making them less susceptible to damage, but in turn unable to deal as much damage. So on and so forth, and of course, the devs could make up their own diseases, and methods of curing them, the main idea of this, however, is that diseases of certain kinds are only present in specific sectors of space, which would mean that sector would naturally have less of the affected species, and those that it did have would be severely disabled by the disease. I think it might add a fun factor of variance into the game.

... You should go check older info. Or to the Faq. Yeah better to the Faq. Meanwhile ill call the doctors, you obviously need help.
No they don't, and none will be added. There are no inherent racial traits at all. Racial armor have abilities that fit the race, but not the characters themselves. And then that armor can be worn by any race. The devs do not want any of the races to have any advantages or disadvantages over another.
What if I think Florans have the least detrimental diseases, but I prefer the look and feel of the Glitch? I'd feel pressured to play Floran because they have a better disease set. This is the same reason there are no racial-specific traits of any kind at all. All race-specific stuff is tied to equipment that can eventually be used by other races, so I can look like whatever race I prefer and still have whatever gameplay I want in the end. At some point, realism becomes an obstacle to playing the game for fun. Debuffs are a natural part of the game, but race-specific debuffs don't sound appealing to me.
Well i think the main reason for that is because it doesn't seem like it'd add much in terms of interesting gameplay, basically you're suggesting including random debuffs and from my point of view at least, it doesn't seem /that/ appealing even though i am a fan of realism XP Maybe there could be some that have more benefits?
Didn't they say that all races will be equal? So noone feels compelled to play a floran when they want to play a human because they look better? I mean, maybe they might make some kind of randomizer for it, and then that might make some races contrack a disease more offend, but I still doubt something like that... I feel like the closest you could get to this might be some races get diseases with their own name, but all do the same things... Though that might be in there already...
Well they still get minor differences in their racial crafting sets, but there is nothing stopping your human from getting his hands on a Hylotl re-breather or Avian Glider suit since they don't plan to restrict racial items as yet. I imagine each race can basically make similar tech in the end anyway, just cosmetic differences perhaps
Personally speaking I dislike that races are only visually different. I would prefer to make the choice "Do I want to be able to glide/ fly for a short duration, or be able to breathe underwater?" I like when choosing a character isn't all about appearance, but this is the developers choice and I respect it. I'll just hope for a nice mod pack in the future. So if we look at your suggestion as a mod idea, it's great for players like me. Therefore I approve
Isn't that just part and parcel of what makes the whole idea of different races as a gameplay mechanic appealing?
