This is a great thread, I discovered most of this already but I really struggled with the little things like how to fix the pickaxe for a while. The wiki is great if you have a specific question but until you know the question a simple FAQ would be nice for beginners.

 

The patch is done, they are just doing some internal testing, so it will be due very soon.

yea i didn't know flags changed your spawn point on a planet! unless that hasn't been implemented yet? Esteysa your icon is amazing @_@

 

Also it will be the final wipe, no more character wipes

 

the planets/universe wipes might still happen but hey no more character wipes is already a big deal to me xD

 

i don't care if it wipe again. i love this game and want DEV to work at best they can just don't care about me care about the game instead.

 

So far this thread is amazing... I hope the questions get compiled into the "Hitchhikers Guide to the Universe", which would be an appropriate name for the guide that should accompany Starbound. Except perhaps not, as you cannot hitchhike. Bad idea, sorry everyone.

 

But when you're in a multi player party and stooging around the universe in someone else's ship isn't that hitch-hiking?

There's a liquid moving mod. Or you can just build the pool and wait for the rain to fill it in.

 

Currently Kettie's answer is the only option.

However, they do plan on adding methods of transporting liquid to vanilla starbound eventually. @GeorgeV posted something about a vacuum tool being the likely method.

 

If you happen to live on a planet with heavy rain, you can try to collect water in holes when it does rain.
