Questions about questions: What is Questionable?

These past few weeks I've noticed a lot of people (fans and trolls alike) trying to seek answers by the developers to a range of questions across different threads.

While some have obviously been inappropriate or "loaded", I believe there are valid ones that many in the community would like actual answers/comment on.

I post this thread to ask what falls under the realm of questions that are considered permissible, so that those of us actually seeking some answers can get some.

It seems most questions get tampered with or locked or buried by over-moderation in blanket-statement ways that only serve to leave the questions unresolved and re-asked later.

If there's a right way to ask these, an example would go miles more than a swat aside or a lock.

It's concerning that we have to walk on eggshells just to voice concern or seek an answer.

It's clear people have the questions, and I'd like to see some answered rather than handled.

TL;DR, I'd like a developer(s) (not a mod, site admin, or non-Starbound dev) to give us an idea of what questions are never/always going to be appropriate, so as to avoid future pitfalls.

You're probably only going to get answers on Reddit.

Transparency around here has for the most part died.

Interestingly, my handle is taken on reddit by someone who just posted an advice animal meme to make fun of something I said and then abandoned the name. Else I may have done that.

 

Strangely enough -- the best way to ask questions (especially some of the ones being thrown around recently) is just to use common sense.

If it's private to the person or to the business -- then it's not really a question to be asked. I'm going to close this thread -- not because valid discussion can't be found here, but because atm there are too many willing to derail such a thread, and use it as a means to breed negativity. If you have concerns or questions (appropriate ones) -- please bring them up with the appropriate staff via PM. Whether that be a mod, an admin, or Molly.
