Questions about Pre-Order!

So, I am sad to say i have not pre-ordered Starbound yet... don't hate me! I just am waiting for some money to come my way in a week to do so!

Now, I'm not scared of giving up 45$ to these courageous developers, but i was just wondering how the NPC named after you works... Like, do you just need to find it randomly on some planet? Like, is there a chance I'll never see my name on an npc?

Anyways, great job on the game so far guys! I'm so excited that I'm getting ready to start some videos on youtube telling people about starbound and trying to teach them how to play! ^^

But that won't be until it's out. So anyways, great work guys! And I love the community, you guys are delicious.

 

Good question, I also want to know this answer. I'm not gonna be donating 45, but saw many people asking this question.

 

The name you enter is, AFAIK, entered into a random generator for NPC names. You may see it someday - or you may never see it. The generator is the same for everyone, and all the names entered by anyone who preordered the necessary amount can show up on any game, potentially.

 

That's what I originally thought. Didn't wanna say anything without knowing for sure, though
