Question about Tiers and Gold ore

So i got that many People have problems with gathering iron.well once i started digging deeper i found lots of it.
But i never found a bigger gold vein then 5 blocks and that was if i was lucky.
So i was wondering, is the amount of ore really random or is it maybe Tier/threat level/Planet biome bound?
Has anyone any experience with that
will i possible find more gold ore if i:
-go to other biome planets (like Desert or Snow)?
-go to higher threat lvl planets (like lvl 8 has possible more or then lvl 2)?
-go to Beta tier world rather then Alpha (even thought its more dangerous.)?
- do neither since it really is random and therefore i could find much even on a simple lvl 1 Forest biome planet.

If anyone knows anything about that i would appreciate it. I have wasted hours already searching for gold.

 

- I found that desert biomes are easier to mine, cause fine sand and gravel tend to 'collapse' in huge chuncks (taking all other directly connected and not suported gravel or fine sand with them) and it drops all the ores those blocks contained down and ready to pick up. This effect is discouraged if your computer isn't high ended. You literally move thousands of blocks at once. but no, those biome's haven't a higher chance for certain ores in my experience.
- Higher level planet definetly have a effect on this! I found iron veins containing over one hundred ores in a level 17 planet. something unseen in lower levels. It will increase the spawn of rarer ores too.
- As previous stated. beta world go from level 10 to 20. More chances to find ores there. If you have a silver pickaxe. Just start digging holes, cause most monsters will one-slap you. You can easily avoid them using tactical block placements and making your own tunnels. (remember, you can make cheap light to use right-click to remove the background, but it will only work until a certain depth is reached.) Your best bet is to dig deep in the ground until you reach a huge underground network of tunnels. They are around there.
- This game is about exploring. Gather some wood to pump your ship up and go! Explorer the galaxy :-D Who knows what you may find?

 

I found some big crystal deposits on a level 11 planet pretty deep - still looking for platinum and diamond. Biggest gold I've seen is 4-5 too but makes it more exciting when i find it
