Closed Question about the Beta key.

Hey all, my friend bought a 4 pack of the pixel tier. And he gave me one. I got an email from humble saying my key was ready. And i followed the link to save my details on this site. Is there anything else i need to do? Sorry if this is in the wrong session.

 

That's about it for now. The Steam key itself will be emailed to you Wednesday.

Does everyone get an email from Humble? Also, do you guys know when the key will be sent tomorrow? What time zone are the developers working under?

 

It depends on Steam, not the developers at this point. Steam typically updates with new games at 10 AM PST.

 

Yeah, so whatever 10pm PST is in your time zone, is when your key sends out, at least that's the impression im under

 

If it's already Wednesday for my time zone, does that mean at 10pm I'll be getting a juicy little email with the key?

 

It's at 10AM PST (GMT -8) on the fourth.

They haven't been sent out. Don't expect them until at least 10 AM PST on the fourth.

The Humble site will have download of the game, correct? I despise Steam.

For phase one of the beta, the game will only be available through Steam. This is due to the possibility of the game needing multiple updates throughout a single day, something that can not be done practically with a DRM-free version. The way Steam works does allow the devs to push updates multiple times a day. When patches become more sparse (days apart) you can expect a DRM-free version to become available. This probably won't happen until phase 2 at the earliest.

 

I bought Starbound on Dec 4th for S14.99 and understand that it's a beta right now. Was I supposed to get some kind of code or key? I have the option to install and click play ... but then I get an immediate crash (which I've reported in the appropriate forum).
