Question about preparing for Sector X. Best I have is not even remotely close.

    The best armor I can make upon being able to go to Sector X, appears to be Platinum Armor. I have a melee weapon that takes 3/4th of the health of sector 3 creatures, never taking more than 2 hits to kill anything but rares. I have 2 pistols which when dual wielded also make quick work of most monsters.

    When I go to sector X, the guns are so weak they are entirely useless, and the enemies take upwards of 10 hits to kill. Any of them can one shot me from full HP. Eventually I found a glitch village that sold me a weapon that is 400% more powerful than my previous weapon, but still take 3-5 hits for most monsters. That is better, but one mistake and splat, dead.

    Is there something I am missing armor wise? The next highest armor than I can see on my list is Aegisalt, but I have yet to find any of this ore in Sector X, and even when I do it's quite difficult to get around when you may as well have 1 hp.

    Any advice?

    Assuming your goal is to become a tier ten god, ignore your armor, mine 160 ore of each of the tier five, seven, and nine requirements to make the tech upgrades at the robotic crafting table, and then make the tier ten stuff.

    You could also explore a tier ten planet to find a weapon which will do two thousand to four thousand DPS, which makes everything else easy mode, too.

    Keep in mind that sector X includes all levels from 5 to 10. If you go past level 5, your gear will not be sufficient. Until you get level 5 gear.

    This. Go find level 5 planets and mine as much aegisalt as you need for the upgrade, new armor, and new weapons. Keep mining it so you can mix with coal for the upgraded metal; that will take you to tier 7. Rinse and repeat for the next few ore types. I actually found the tier 5-8 advancement to be pretty smooth.

    I went into X Sector with Glitch steel armor and came out with the Doom Lord Armor (I made none of the armors between these two). My strategy revolved around trying to never get hit. Ever.

    That is if you don't go to a tier ten planet, find a dungeon, kill some silly little NPC, and get an overpowered tier ten drop. Then you're set for the endgame.

    ~~~
    Tier five/six, seven/eight, and nine/ten are pretty smooth, but also extremely uniform and fairly boring. For each division, mine eighty units of ore. The the second half of the division, make sure to have forty coal on hand for alloying. Between six/seven, and eight/nine, fly to a new planet.
    Easy, and boring.
    That's pretty much the simplest way to get to the endgame content at this point. It'll surely change come more content, of course.
    I have to echo the above advice. Don't even craft the other lesser tier armors just go to a Lvl 5 planet, grab your Aegisalt and some coal..build the upgrade for next tech tier level..rinse and repeat
    Thanks for the information everyone, I've been sick few a couple days and in my sleep deprived and drug addled state I didn't notice that Sector X doesn't conform with the previous 3 sectors when it comes planet threats all being the same for the sector.
