Question about getting food with the Hunting Bow

For anyone who doesn't know, to get meat from enemies, you need to kill them with a Hunting Bow.

Now, my question is, do you just need to finish the enemy with a bow (get it to low health with a rifle or sword but actually kill it with the bow) or do you need to damage it and kill it solely with a bow? Thanks a bunch!

 

Well that's pretty specific mweheh, but there is no reason why you could not, if the last projectile that kills the monster comes from the Hunting Bow it will give you MEAT! (not bacon)
Unless they tweak that to you need to make most damage with the bow or no food. Anyway it's not known yet.
