Quest on the character itself

    I feel that the main story lacks much engagement, except for the procedural progress of the armour and risk levels.
    So I feel that other than the main story quest, about the boss fights and stuff, there should be a long quest about the character's origins and their aims. [For e.g how each race reached their spaceship and started their journey, and how it is going to proceed] So that the players can have a better engagement in the game.

    Maybe perhaps a quest : ((Example only))
    For humans: Earth exploded recently (destroyed by a giant alien monster) and human were sent in escape pods and they want to get revenge on the boss and than finally building up their civilisation/colony on another planet again.
    For novakids: Their species were into treasure hunting, so the planet sent the novakids through the planet when they were young to forage for treasures. When they finally find their specific treasures they need to find, they would then be given the coordinates of their planet to return to build a planet of rare treasures.
    For other races: Different stories (Maybe we could come up for the different stories for each race that could be placed into the game as a side-ish main story)

    Any thoughts on this subject please comment.

    For simplicity, every race gets a backstory with a connected quest series.

    But each character should have a unique, randomly-generated, quest series to give them a special goal that they can strive toward. This could even be tied somehow to the 'personality' that was chosen in character creation.

    Maybe it could be like a choose your own adventure? At the end of each character quest you can choose between either some loot, dialogue options, or straight up quests that dictate the course of that character's backstory. Maybe you could have a quest to go into a dungeon and retrieve an item from a family member and whatever you bring back determines the composition of your family or their occupations/where to find them.

    That'd be really fun.
