    I totally love how this is all, "Nah, dumb quests are fine, just look at those stupid NPC faces, they deserve no better."

    I've only seen 5 types of quests.

    1. Kill baddie
    2. Fetch friend
    3. Give me item grown from crops which is made into food which is then delivered.
    4. Give me item harvested/found in world which is then made into item which is then delivered.
    5. Capture animal, get another animal in trade.

    Are there other types because after having received 10 quests in a single village made of these five types (well mostly the first four) + the same quests from my colonists whom I trying to turn into crew I found it very repetitive.

    Modded races, such as Avali, are getting the game crashing when activating the first gate at the first planet you arrive. I contacted the Avali mod's owner and they assure it's not on their end. So please, if you could fix so that modded races don't crash the game when activating the gate, that would be awesome. I'm on Mac 10.11 and i also have the issue with the Tech machine crashing the game when closing its window, so i guess both crashing issues should be fixed in the same upcoming patch! If we are able to get mods in the workshop now, such mods such as races should be able to be playable without issues if it's not on their end :) thanks in advance

    It's very likely not a vanilla issue so what is there for them to fix? I'll do some testing at my computer.

    Still same premises. I mean I have seen a lot of people do that... a lot with texting... Well ok half those that I have seen were in commercials, but still that leaves the other half. And yes it is quite odd to say the least. I don't mind it though, as it presents with being upfront with your friends, and a note to treasure... or something like that... Maybe it was something they didn't want to say out loud and could better write words for. As long as those letters don't come with auto-correct, I think the NPCs will be fine. :nurutease:

    Thank you for all the love and creativity you put into the proc quest system. My floran neighboring village has been very entertaining with added quests :) Also fun to see little hearts between my colonists & neighbors interacting.

    Did you even bother to READ what she said they want to do more a more COMPLEX quest system later on down the line and I'm sure once most of the major bugs are fixed and more content is added they will have more than just simple quests you do know that games tend to EVOLVE over time right.

    Kawa's a guy?! *Checks profile* Oh. Huh. Whoops.

    But yeah, CF has no interest in adding more playable races, especially now that 1.0 has hit. Adding a whole new playable race would shake up the lore and would require a lot of work on their part. (Albeit less now that they've removed or scrapped most of the racial variety)

    If i had to say something about the quest system is that i find it adds a ton of immersion to planets. they feel complete and worth doing with the potential of getting crewmembers or better shops it makes the quests feel substantial and i love that, sure there is a lot of variation in the quests, i think one quest type that i would love to see is one where you get asked by an NPC to take them to another village on another planet in their system, or for you to take an item across to another planet for a trade, this could lead to the idea of invasions so say you are on this quest and as you start the warp process to the other planet you get stopped your teleporter is locked and you get ambushed by bandits, this would be interesting and add a bit of risk to some of the quests for example if the bandits kill you you lose the item and subsequently fail the quest. so then that could lead to other quests in which you go to try to kill those bandits that killed you and get your item back, this would give a bigger reason to travel between planets and would make it more beneficial to set up ways to get things across better, I'm not sure how well this could be implemented without having to deal with the fact that in order to have invasions you would have to have some way of interrupting the transport process and you would also have to deal with the fact that they could just set up teleporter waypoints using flags and bypass it all together, all I'm saying is i would love to see something like this but would only like to see it if it isn't too much for you guys :rofl:.

    I really like the procedurally generated quest system.
    But still, there are a few things that could be better.

    For instance, i run through a village and get all the quests.
    About 6 or more. And at least 4 of them are something like "get into X and rescue Y.
    The other quests are either "run to house", "kill beast" or "get X to make a hat".


    It would be nice to see a quest where i need to get something that might not be on this planet.
    Like medical supplies or stuff that a city could really need. Speaking of a few episodes of firefly.

    Or how about a quest where you have to build a house for the city, like a clock tower or something.

    That would really spice things up and i won't have to do 5 quests where i have to escort someone from a dungeon.

    Apart form that, i really enjoy Starbound 1.x so far, good job Chucklefish!

    Story time! I was in the process of building my first 1.0 colony (by taking over existing abandoned structures and moving them closer together), and already had one Glitch resident. My idea was to make a standard housing unit and build several instances of it (the existing structures were already pretty much identical, only far apart and unfurnished).

    While I was completing the other units, my sole colonist gave me a quest to accompany her to a nearby shopkeeper, who was apparently hanging out at a nearby stony pond. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the AI could accurately describe the terrain as such! Unfortunately, the shopkeeper was hanging out at the bottom of the stony pond, as in underwater. But no matter. According to the Glitch's instructions, I bought a sewage barrel and placed it on her dining room table. She was very pleased with this, declared that it improved the ambience, and rewarded me.

    I mean, ... it's your flat. But if it ends up smelling of sewage, I'm going to keep the deposit.

    I particularly enjoyed reading that post. I tend to wonder "What went through the Developers' head" when playing many games sometimes they are for good reasons though more often than not for bad reasons. I have to say I personally love the System and am really happy to be able to read what you guys where thinking. I am looking forward to more content to come hopefully. I have enjoyed the time I have gotten to spend watching you guys make this game as much as I have enjoyed playing it. Well back to the game i go I will see you all among the stars Happy Exploring all!

    If you want Quest Friends Forever, could you please fix multiplayer quests so you can actually do quests together, as friends, forever?

    Preferably before you go gallivanting off to create new mechanics and new features, you should probably make sure that existing content works.

    There's also "Kill baddie, get 1 drop for the entire group, abandon quest".
