First off, congratulations on such a successful and early beta release, it was the interview that was posted my Mollygo, which really brought me to the game and gave me the warm family fell I get from Chucklefish. Great job on that! It's refreshing to see how open and over all cool the dev team is. Here's a problem I've seen over and over again on the public servers, There is a massive challenge to playing online in multiplayer public server and a few simple systems would be a great addition, and would cut down on the ridiculousness that's happening to tear apart the starting world which seems to happen often. I request a simple Vote kick - maybe IP banning, perhaps auto locking protection on the starting world (no massive world damage flag, or a damage limit placed on default). Last night I was playing in a world, where there were 2 characters and they were nuking the staring world over and over, on another server players were asking to join and then jump on your ship and steal all your stuff, people were killing each other as invis,. I understand it's beta and this stuff is going to happen, but I feel a simple check system of some sort would be really helpful in building some really cool online communities. Please feel free to comment, and keep your feedback constructive and stay on topic, some fun pictures of recent adventures added, and slight edit in content. Thanks ,
I'd like a banning system, similar to how Minecraft does it. Have people who are "ops", and those people can use op commands to give items, ban, kick etc. I don't see Starbound as ever being a hugely successful public multiplayer game, rather more like Terraria, where those servers try but inevitably fail. The main reason I want a banning system is purely because I play almost exclusively with friends, and they occasionally get pissy over little things and start breaking/stealing all my stuff. In Minecraft, I just banned them for a while until they calmed down, but in Starbound I have to endure it, and hope they'll give my stuff back at the end.
If these systems in place early, then it would help make it easier to group up with a large group of people, or at least that's what I think. You can do so much in this game/sandbox and so far this seems like a good safe in stopping the random bs that happens on the spawn world.
