Does it seem like it would fit with the story?

 

This seems like a great idea. I've always been interested in Role-playing. Will an application be needed to join? Oh and if you guys need any help I'll be glad to support with organization and types of things like that.

 

IDK im just brain storming here. lol

 

Myself and a couple of my mates are interested in this idea, assuming that the chat system would be suitable for this amount of players. In case it matters, we have experience with role playing in games.

On a slightly less off-topic note, I am thinking of perhaps "planting the seeds" of an Floran Sovereignty of sorts. Seeing as there are no strictly racial factions integrated into the lore, but I feel as if the florans would be .. a bad fit in any/atleast most of the above mentioned factions and as a proud specimen of the floran race I cannot help but feel a little betrayed by my own lore.. I'm having difficulties contacting Zephyr, communicating with one 6 timezones away is difficult. ; / Anyways, just wanted to hear your opinion the the Floran Sovereignty (unofficial name)

There will probably be an application later on, but we aren't taking them yet. Seeing as how this post is filled to the brim we might end up using this simply for discussion and make a new thread for applications, when we get that far anyhow.

Whether or not we shall have always on PvP isn't decided yet, but I am thinking no full loot. It would encourage lolplaying, and other bad practices. ;3

Oooh, I like that. Warbound sounds a little rough though and Triad doesn't seem to fit with so many words. The Entropy Conflict was a name that was previously suggested, I would like your opinions on that aswell. Everything will be read and taken into concideration. Probably twice. ;3

 

What sort of Floran faction are you considering? A zerg-like faction that wants to infest everything, everywhere? Or a more cool-headed group headed towards more diplomatic pursuits?

Regarding the icon of the Ironstar Raiders, I really think the spiked ball and tattered banner suit their space-pirate theme quite well.

 

I was thinking more of an Imperium a bit reminiscent of ancient egypt, but in space and with plantpeople. We lack both a religious faction and a serious imperium so it would be quite interesting to do both at once. Also the religious aspect could possibly attract avians and the imperium aspect could attract glitches. Just a thought though, haven't discussed any of this with Zephyr yet.

 

I believe a faction of zealots could be an interesting addition, as the concept isn't explored in the other groups. It'd sure give for some variety, not only in missions, plot, and paradigms, but also in terms of architecture, equipment, and clothing.

I also think we should try to expand it beyond Florans and allow other races to be a part of it, too. I haven't seen limited alliances (for example: only Floran and Avian) around this community much, so it could have potential.

Finally, I believe we should try to be careful and keep things at a user-friendly level. More factions beyond this suggestion here could start verging on being too much.

 

Zephyr and I have been working out the first three factions a little more. The rest will be discussed when we can all be online at the same time. I'm sure we could work out something for those two other things but we're going to have to create a dynamic between them, each other, and the rest. Shouldn't be too hard.

Zephyr started a skype discussion for this stuff so it might be best to get in touch with 'im. A lot of these things have the potential to be created by existing members after launch, and we should definitely see how that goes, but I can also see how adding these two might provide a little more intrigue and perhaps even some conflict.

 

I wasn't really going to limit the races but I love religious zealots, and I love florans.. What do you think of the entire sovereign with the power of a god thing?.. I'm thinking this might be a bit much aswell, but I really quite feel as if there is a space in the faction types and that this one will patch it up quite nicely. Again, we would have to split the members among the factions, and there will most likely be plenty of freelancers and player factions aswell, so It might be a bad idea altogether.

We'll see how launch goes and make a decision from there whether to implement it or not. Until then, it would be good still to discuss it at least so we would know what we're implementing if we decide to implement it.
