Hello everyone and welcome to my thread :D

(o shit i fucked up the title... xD)

So i played the game for a pretty good amount already and read some threads about progression trough bosses/armors and weapons which means that everything i write in this initial post is completly based uppon what i think/dislike about the game. your free to share your own thought on how we can help the game that we all like to get even better!
i also already read about the armorpen/armor rework.

ill put the tldr here because i think alot of you are going to be struck by the wall of text that looks super boring.
TL:DR Change bosses to be unchessable which results in a gearcheck for armor and starmap progression!

ill start with some talk about damage progression right now but this is going to change anyway (i hope)

So right now there is basicly no armor progression at all. if you can buy a weapon that is strong enough to 1-2 shot a monster in your max level secor your good to go. you dont even need to kill them since there are alot of other methods of obtaining pixels.
the weapon progression is super cheap and hardly even noticable because once you enter a new sector you go for a X0 planet (preferable an easy to mine/explore one. so no snow/moon etc) and buy the strongest gun (most likely a sniper) and bam. combat progression done. you 1hit everything with ctrl-vision from way offscreen.

Sector progression is the only progression feature that WHOULD work really good if the boss fight arent super cheesable.
for example the penguin: just dig a hole and put 2 blocks above you. now just use a bow/sniper/gun and shot him till hes dead. he cant hit you and so cant the small penguins. if he destroys blocks with his bodyslam thingy you just repeat the initial process.
the second fight is even cheaper. just build 1 wall between you and the robot and you can even melee him to death.... cheap...

i really like the "fight a boss get new areas" thing because thats how almost every game shold work. you beat up small enemies/mid bosses until you reach the final encounter of your zone to unlock the next zone.
HOWEVER with cheap ass fights where you can prepare your invironment for the fight is a bad idea.
so my solution to this whould be to fight them in a semi-randomized environment that you cant fully prepare. maybe you get teleported to a planet where you can neither place nor destroy any blocks. (this obviously needs the bosses to get tweaked)

It whould also result in a GEAR CHECK. yes many ppl might dislike this but it actually forces us to progress in armor. which is a good thing because with this change we cant just roflstomp the entire game with no armor at all

now this is a gear check for our armor and i dont think that our weapon needs a gear check BECAUSE if we fight bosses in a predesigned environment we already are under pressure since we ca hardly avoid getting damaged by the bosses forever.

thank you for reading. and if you dont like reading:

The combat balancing update is coming out soon. -->

they will be revamping the weapon damage system. Currently it is based off the armor penetration lvl.

So for example if your sword has 21 armor penetration, with 40 damage, and you are fighting a monster that is lvl 21, you will do 40 damage. If the monster is lower, you will do more damage, and vice versa.

Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.

sorry my english isnt perfect. actually i know its not good. i dont need everyone to tell me whenever they can

    also: @ your first post
i already wrote that. but that doesnt change the fact that bosses are super easy cheesable. and its always going to be like that if you can influence them by preparing the battleground
