Progress on Ships!

Awesome! I'm loving the new ship design for the hylotl. It completely cleans up the act with them. The ship now just doesn't match what I've seen of hylotl technology, with its fishlike design and red color. The screenshot of the hylotl city that's coming out MUCH more resembles the new design, and I love it.

 

I am waiting om the ship upgrades to play starbound again! it takes to long

Does anyone know when they will be added to the game?

 

They already are in the game. You've been reading about stuff in the Nightly branch all this time. Later, these things'll fold into the other branches.

I think they mean when will it ACTUALLY be in game, rather than in beta, which Nightly is a beta build, buggy as hell and not really part of the actual game when it comes to simply playing and not having to opt in to the nightly mode in steam.

well, he is going to be a hylotl after all, how else would he have the hylotl ship?

I'd like it that by the fifth stage, the cockpit was at the back of the ship, like a command bridge. Stage five looks a little odd with a tiny cockpit and this huge chunk of boxes behind it. No idea how you would do this though. I really like the Avian bit; it's cool that as a Florian you're salvaging other races' technology. Also, it'd be handy to be able to move the teleporter, and perhaps the other systems as well. Even with all the space in the rest of the ship, that first space would probably be cluttered. Anyway, everything is looking amazing I really love the level of community interaction you guys have incorporated into development!

Is there a Novakid ship that has been created yet, or maybe an idea of what it might be like.

 

yeah... not gonna happen its just a ship design.

 

It would be nice if you could at least go to a shipyard and mix together several background image ship parts in the configuration you want or something.

 

Is there any chance that stages 6 & 7 of the Apex ship will change? I love it all the way up to stage 5 and then I look at it like "what happened here'"? Maybe it could end up banana shaped!
