Progress on Ships!

Just change it to a Magikarp and it'll be goldeen.

I know this is a bit too late, but could your put the vines and plants inside the floran ships? I never liked the idea of plants surviving in space, and floran is my favorite race to play.

Have them running through air ducts, and wrapped around different equipment like the vines are strangling the ship from the inside out. Maybe later tier ships could have bio-mechanical vines which grow outside the ship. Or just turn the current vines into something looking more bio-mechanical.

While I love the Floran ships, I have to say... I really really don't like the new Hylotl ship. The 'new' blue ship doesn't have a soul to it at all, it's just a plain blue ship, and I hate saying that since I love the Hylotl.

The current orange fish Hylotl ship has so much character to it! With the lattice walls and paper lanterns to go with their lore, and just the overall design to it with the fish fitting perfectly. It would be a bloody shame for it all to disappear and go to waste.

Perhaps Tiy's old idea of a space ship NPC could be implemented, and allow you to switch styles. That could be a good option in my eyes.

As for the Floran ships again, I love how they look- meshing in parts of other ships to work with their backstory. Though I notice in the first image, the turret from the Glitch ship is much older, and I love this how it is all beaten up and out of shape! Makes it fit much better, and maybe the same could be done with the other parts like the Avian temple/gem part- it would be much less out of place if it was faded and beaten up.

Anyhow, that is my two pence, take it how you will, and I hope that you continue to improve on your dream game!

 

Now that is what i would expect from a floran ship just a hodgepodge of scrap from other races

 

For the start, how about have a Floran dropship with a broken Avian pyramid mounted with a space-plant that looked like a venus flytrap but to breathe plasma?

Proof that players don't know much about the game's lore, since the first "Floran" ship was a crashed Avian vessel. Since they reverse engineer tech, what do people think the ship is going to resemble? I'm actually happy that my Floran's ship will finally show that.

Edit: Forgot to say that these were just the page 1's. There were a few others, but these were annoying me.

Go on, give me more... it could be some kind of "Planetarium" for the other races ships.

I do like how they finally added that lore tid-bit; I wasn't even sure if it was still a part of the lore or if it had been ret-gone due to the introduction of Hylotl/Florian politics.

But you have to remember that some people chose not to read that one newsletter because they did not want to have spoils ruined for them. Newer people have also joined since then, and have either not checked the old newsletters or don't want to spoil the lore either. And because the game is still in early beta, downloading lore from the other race's computers is still not a thing yet, not to mention a lot of the lore hasn't even been written yet.

What if it was a shiny Magikarp, as in a golden magikarp? Would it then be golden golden or Magikarp golden squared?!

I personnaly dont like the Floran design right now beacause it isnt as "planty" as i think it should be. maybe put more vines so we see less the ship underneath it and more the plants would be an idea.

 

Will the walls be able to be changed? The pipey-steampunky-background thing is kinda offputting. Also, both new ship ideas/tier mods look swell. As swell as swell can possible be as swell as.

You can change the walls now, just right-click them with our pickaxe... like any other background, you can replace the blocks at will

 

That's the background without any walls. There the same for every ship right now, you just destroy the background walls.
I think it will start with a background, and you can then replace it with anything you like later on.

 

The reason there is Avian parts on the Floran ships because the Florans gained ftl travel when an avian research vessel spontaneously combusted sending it hurtling to the planet. The Florans reverse-engineered so of course its going to ook like avian...........
