Are you tired of those long waits to mine pockets of ore?? It doesn't seem like a lot, but it adds up! Introducing an idea that makes lazy people lazier! Productivity bots! You can build a mining bot with a few microchips and wires, tires, metal and a drill of some variety (or a pickaxe and a motor) to do some mining for you. You can set it off to mine certain blocks or turn it onto ORM (Ore retrieval mode) to just get the closest ore it can get it's hand on. Disadvantages to using this is they have limited cargo bays, but that can be fixed by welding on a container of some variety. Mining bot recipe: Steel or iron bars 3 microchips with "minebot" program installed 3 motors (or 4 if using pickaxe) 3 wheels (with tires on) Drill or Pickaxe 30 wires *Requires Mining Bot Blueprint* Glowbot is another slave you can use. He lights up a decent amount of space and is built with a light bulb and some easy to find parts. He can be set to different modes such as follow (where he follows you around), orbit (where he circles around you to give a a bit of a range to see ores in. You can change the diameter of the bot's orbit to modify the "noticed ore zone" as well.), Detect ore (follows you around until ore appears on the screen. He will always go to the highest tier ore (that you can mine with your best pick) on-screen), or detect enemies (Goes to the closest enemy on-screen. Can be set to go to certain enemies, PvP enemies or strongest enemy.). He is pretty useful, but very vulnerable. Has double the starting health and is able to evade simple melee attacks. Glowbot recipe: 1 lightbulb 10 glass (can be tinted to change glow color) (all must be same color) A few steel bars 2 microchips with "Illuminate" program installed 10 wires *Requires Glowbot Blueprint* More bots coming soon! I thought of StarCraft when I saw this thread. Having bots do your dirty chores while you go outside exploring different planets seems like a pretty good idea to me. But this will make bots the main income of resources, gathering them yourself would be impractical. But atleast you'll need to get some steel before making them.
meh not my kinda idea, seems like no fun its like if link didnt feel like he wanted to run a doungen so he payed some someone to do it for him =p
I love the idea, would be nice to be able to program them to only dig certen kinds of ore so bot #1 could mine for silver while bot #2 is only mining for gold Just makes it alot easier and it stops them from making huge holes, unless you want huge holes
