Planets will be randomly generated, so why not have the background random? It wouldn't be totally random (A ice planet will not have a tentacle planet backround), but no two planet backrounds are the same. Some examples of possible changes:

-Pinecones, bird like animals, etc. on trees

-Different colored tentacles on tentacle planets

    -Different animal remains

    -Different planets in backrounds

That, is a good idea. As long as it's PROCEDURALLY genereated and not RANDOMELY generated.

Of course I like it, although I don't really know how it would be possible. That said, I'm no coding genius, so... Good luck with it devs, I hope you can do that for us :D

Oh, I can easily see how it can be possible. You would have different layer images, like hills or plains as layer 1, coniferous of normal trees as layer 2, and mountains with or without snow/trees as layer 3.
Then the game can color it depending on the blocks of that planet. And that example is just for forest planets, with only 2 variations per layer, and there's already tons of combinations.

Sounds plausible indeed, kind of like the layers in Photoshop! So... I hope it gets in the game. In fact, why isn't it already done? :D

Maybe they did but the haven't told us yet. ;)

Indeed, I'm just joking, and by the looks of it I wouldn't be surprised! The dual-wield and blocking system amazed me quite a lot already :p
