Procedural melee weapon pieces

The awesome part is... Tiy was making a stick look high tech!

 

Perty. I still want that huge knife from the village pic though.

 

Weapons 2/3 and 5/6 in the picture like they could.. POTENTIALLY be a ranged weapon! Not specifically gunblades, sure, but I'm hoping for two handed weapons with interesting alt-fire mechanics.

 

Oh my god. YES.

 

Definately looking forward to what I may find when I finally get my hands on this game.

 

Tiy says "these are just a handful of blades", so I guess the handles are still to come

 

The stick is reoccuring so I am assuming that it is definately not going to be apart of every weapon, but I have a question that arises from this: will meele weapons be made solely out of a hilt and blade or is there a third or even fourth peice to the meele weapons?

 

I think those need to vary more in looks.

One thing that strikes me as odd is the yellow tip at the bottom of the weapons on top... I think these ones are intended to be spears or some other sort of "pole" weapon.

 

I haven't seen so many variations on a stick since the last time I looked in my fiance's bedside table. Impressive!

Riiight... I'm somewhat disappointed not to see some more elegant blades - all those look too bulky for me. And there is something wrong with axes' blade angle. Also - what are those narrow-handle-wide-center-narrow-end things (#4-5) and what is #3?

 

I have done some thinking (stared at the image for a few seconds) and come up with a hypothesis (wild guess). #3 is a spear and #4 and #5 are clubs/maces that or beam staffs, but that wouldn't be a melee weapon, huh? Or they form an energy-field-type-thing around them. #4 might also just be a giant carpet cutter.

this... is... AWESOME! why would anyone possibly want another weapon in this game? i say scratch this procedural generation thing and make all melee-weapons pointy sticks.
