Hey, gang. I know there have been tons of these, but I am down to get to the bottom of this. Me and a few of my friends want to play Starbound together, like most would. Seeing as I am the one best versed to host the server I've been looking into it.

So, my problem thus far is this...
I am trying to host a server through Hamachi to allow my four other friends to hop into a server.
I am using an Arris router and I've opened my ports.

So far, every time I try to open up the game and enter the server I am faced with the same message offering me my IP and the port that needs to be open. So, I think it might be on the side of my fault porting, but in the off chance it is. I'm looking for a little detailed step by step idea that can be offered to help me here with the recent update.

Should I not use Hamachi and maybe something else? What do you have to say, forums. You all seem helpful.

    *Edit*
I'm a special snowflake who uses a mac and I wonder if it is possible at all to even do that.

Just so I understand, if you are able to forward ports on your router, why are you using hamachi at all?

Well, the only way I know how to run servers like this goes back to when I played Terraria a long time ago.

When you say "I have opened my ports" You mean you know your computers local network ip address and set your router to forward port 21025 to it?
That means you can uninstall hamachi, give your friends your public facing ip address and just have them connect using that. no special programs needed.
