    I could be wrong?

    No, you are not.
Some do that probably because it make the time pass...

You obviously dont work with IT. Often are IT projects so important and critical implementations that projectleaders wont accept deley. Especially in the finance sector. Companies can be fined serveral thousands a day when an IT project are delayed.

Also Starbound is not an "IT project"

I'm talking more about the path they took, according to the update log. Like the fact that first there was the ability to sit in chairs. Then they told us about tech items and systems that should be here to implement those, then ran off to add husk of a wire system, then they were adding food recipes, then furniture sets (wot, Y), then back to the recipes, then they added the ability to sleep in beds, then they started to work on tech finally. And then I realise that this whole time NPC AI didn't have a concept of a wall and couldn't use weapons properly.

You're a developer of ... something. Let me find some confetti. Your protests against personal attacks would be poignant if you didn't just get done calling people kiss asses. Hello, Pot. Please meet my friend kettle. My point, and I understand if you missed it, is you're a developer, which still makes you a nothing. It makes you qualified to say ... nothing. You can relate your opinion just the same as anyone else and it means dick, just like everyone else. That's what you seem to fail to grasp. You aren't special. Your opinions don't carry more weight because you think you're a developer, or if you really are.

That is good, I think, yes. But look at just how long it took them to do it. During this time several enormous mods emerged and some of those even managed to die off. Including some mods that add far more biomes and/or content. Hell, if I to promote a mod, look at what Terrafirmacraft achieved during the same timespan (and now there's a huge update to TFC somewhere in the pipelines, which looks like it might be the content of a year and a half worth of vanilla's development, from what little information mod's authors are giving, being sneaky as usual).

I agree he isn't one to complain about ad hominem. I disagree with this.

No it makes him qualified to make judgement on game development. Why? Because he has experience in the field. Furthermore his point is that because he is a developer he is more qualified than you to make judgement, which is absolutely true, assuming you aren't a developer. Say what you will, but he is more qualified than you to make criticism.

Oh my god, yes, they do. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but that doesn't mean all opinions are equal. This is akin to saying "What! You're just a guy with a Physics degree? So what! That doesn't mean your opinion on hyperbolic motion of projectiles is any more valid than my opinion on projectile motion being exponential!" This really is just an astounding opinion to hold. Believe it or not, if someone has more experience than you in a particular area, and hence more knowledge, their opinions carry more weight than yours.

It has long since past the 'worth the wait' phase. I don't care if this game gives daily bj's after it's finished. It has exceeded the point at which I am in 'waiting'. But I will play it anyways because after being teased like a dog for this long, I will taste the bacon gosh darn it. I will taste the bacon.

Not a huge fan of the whole "the only good game is an innovative/indie game" attitude, but ok I guess?

Don't entirely get the point of this post, but I'm glad that it's not a message about delaying the game again.

Hopefully tomorrow's update is about the game.

Games don't follow a set theory like physics so that analogy doesn't work when each game can be developed in entirely diferent ways depending on the goal and technology being used. You can't seriously claim that a developer that makes flash or unity has any say towards a project using their own custom engine or say the Unreal and Cry engine.

I see plenty of arse-kissing here:lod:. and to the people who say "tiy take your time" is just typing bullshit:seriously:, when you have someone developing a game the last thing you want is for them to become complacent:geek:. so keep prodding them and stuff because we don't want them falling asleep now do we? :sarcasm:

You more or less just said that a person using (for example) Ruby can't be considered programmer, only those using C++ can, pretty much. Or that I'm not a human if I speak Russian, only those who speak Spanish are. Which is bear bollocks. Unity is an engine as much as Unreal Engine or homemade Starbound engine is. And game development isn't just about the engine, you know.

oh wow, the thread really exploded since the last time i read it... i had to skip some pages, so sorry if some of my following points are already mentioned.
about the statement regarding the rights of the buyer in case of pre-ordering starbound:
feel free to read the terms of service, i just took the time to read them completely, and it was boring and exhausting because of the language (especially for a non-native speaker like me), but after this i can tell you: chucklefish takes the right to delay everything regarding the game as much as they want, to push the release date limitless times and there is nothing you can do against it. as far as i know there is in nearly every country a law granting you the right to return the product for the full amount of money or something of the same worth, if the product isn't delivered or 24h after. so feel free to take this seriously and ask chucklefish for a refund if you are too impatient.

i think my opinion about the initial post made by tyi has been made clear in my previous post, so i'll just sum things up with one sentence i wrote earlier:
