    PS_ghost Hey, You!

It's funny how you'd put forth that absolute BS because you're an administrator here and are trying to push some anti-piracy attitude. That was not the point at all and you know it. I'm sure your friends intentionally avoided playing Terraria as early as possible, I truly believe you.

I can only think of two things when i think the words "Delayed" and "Quality". One is the Last Guardian. Completely Delayed, but i can only expect good things from that title. No matter how long the wait is.

The second is Steamboy. Yes, i know it is not a game, but an animation movie. Just so you know, the movie took TEN YEARS to be finished because artists put their soul and took their time to finish the work. The result is nothing short of splendid, i'd have to say.

SOME groups can deliver quality content in little time, but in this case, it probably comes to the rule of the three values. Quality, time and price. You can have two of them, but never the three. [often pictured as a graphic with "utopia" in the center xD ]

So, while some people scream "GIME BETA I REPORT U HUEHUEHUE", others have the patience to wait for it. I admit i may have joined the wait near the final stages [bought my ps3 last year, been waiting for Last Guardian since its announcement. Paid for starbound last month, or this month xD] but that doesn't make me any less patient. I friggin bought Mighty no 9, and it didn't even properly started being produced yet!.. Or did it?

The close minded fan boys that rush to say "take all the time you need" as soon as there's a post like this is a problem too.

I don't honestly find wanting to support indie dev's through actually purchasing their product as bullshit. Hell, even I do that. I ahve respect for indie devs, especially the good AMAZING ones. I didn't torrent cubeworld, I am not going to torrent Distance, and I sure as hell am not going to torrent this. Having respect for someone's hard work isn't bullshit sir.

it's also the closest we've come to knowing a single thing about beta's release. i don't think he'd publicly chance that sort of response to a stranger without having some sort of confidence.

So anyone who played the Terraria leak didn't go on to purchase the game? Wasn't the point, once again trying to hamfist a righteous anti-piracy attitude into a line of thought that had nothing to do with it.

Anyone who is a true fan of video games wanted to play Terraria as soon as they could because it was a completely new thing; this is almost without exception. I'm ok if some of you are more valorous than me.

Molly not-so-subtlely said they were in preperation for the beta already. Pretty blatent hint they are getting close, I just don't want him to feel that an almost beta needs to be drastically pushed back. Early January/February... hell even early march I am fine with, I just don't want to see it pushed to next summer. I would like cut someone. justkiddingIwouldn'tdothatwasthatthepoliceohshitgottagobye.

This post has now got me worried as to weather the beta will come out this year or not. Almost like they are trying to cushion the blow by making this post.

What I'm going to say might already have been said, but 40 pages of comments is a lot and I'm not going to scour that just to see if I'm about to repeat someone else's words. To be sure it gets said, here goes.

It bothers me that you think there are only those 3 types of games. There are plenty of games that reach their production deadlines, aren't rehashes and innovate or improve in plenty of ways. I wouldn't be surprised if a developer of such a game was offended or has already brought this up. Realistically, the amount of video games that have been created to date by human beings is staggering and classifying them all in such a way is pointless and doesn't really serve your argument as well as you think. You have every right to make your argument and I agree with you. If in doubt, delay the game. Claiming that no game can be innovative and great without delaying it is preposterous, though.

Fur realz, people flip out about delayed games way too much. I'd rather a game be delayed than it not get made at all, or worse the entire Intellectual Property die out.

Also, games are art. Only dumb people think otherwise. (Huzzah for generalizations!) If anything, the argument could be made that they are a collaboration or collection of pieces of art that serve to create the setting/characters/etc that the game utilizes to immerse and entertain the player(s). If games aren't art, they at least have art in them.

Finally I just want to say that I eagerly anticipate Starbound. I've never been dissapointed or worried about the state of the game or the direction it's heading. Keep doing what you are doing, please.

personally, i was more excited about this game than anything else when it began. i gave them money. now, after all this "sorry i didn't know it's actually going to take longer to make  oh well delays happen" i don't really care anymore. whether that's a good attitude or bad, i'm a paying customer and that's how i feel. if i was making a game, i wouldn't want my customers to feel like that. this is just my opinion, but Chucklefish better think about this type of thing as they make these kinds of decisions. this isn't some revolution, it's just another game. make a realistic plan, complete the game, and release it. if we're going to talk about rushing art, i'm reminded of a quote (can't remember who said it): "there is no such thing as a finished game, only a shipped one."

Listen people, i know you are eager as i am for the beta release, the games' release, ect..but realize that the dev. team is working their hardest day and night to get this done..if they weren't they'd end up like minecraft as said before..honestly you wouldn't believe the stress that is put on the dev. team even if there are a countless amount of people who say it's ok if there's a delay, and complaining about no beta is worse than waiting for a great and complete beta and game. Please guys, they have enough on their backs to worry about rather than to hear you guys complain..and so to speak, they are taking forum feedback, but they're doing the best they can for us at a personal expense..if i was them, i would nearly loose it, which is why the dev. team at Chuckelfish is so great! Realize that they are doing everything they can to make sure the game is great, has tons of content, continues with awesome things like random dungeons, and more! Rather than sit around and complain, maybe you should take further consideration and appriciation for the team.
I speak for all when i say that they can delay the game a bit, even delay brings further good news for us, by that i mean less buggy, more features, more things to do overall, and just a great game in general at the cost of their personal time.
The Chuckelfish Team Is And Will Always Be Amazing!!
