I hate when people use that quote lol. A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad. It is uninformed and untrue. This isn't the 90's anymore, and games are no longer on non-updatable cartridges. Updates, hotfixes, patches, dlc, and expansions all disprove this statement. Sure, a game can be terrible on launch when riddled with bugs, but can be eventually good as well.

Also, that is quite a lengthy post for saying beta isnt coming this year LOL, what with all the "estimated beta release" talk and such. :/

I have never seen this pointless debate before, oh wait I have... I am sure no one will be five years from now saying starbound was a failure because of delays. Delays happen I can't get why people can't handle that acting like someone kicked them in the gut when all it means is you wait longer. I guess some people mind sets just can't be changed, maybe fueled by irrational reasoning or wanting attention or the feel of self worth and fighting something bigger then them to feel like they are a rebel with a purpose, I just don't know why some people complain about the smallest things.

Not every game comes out the same way it's that simple, every game has a different developer and publisher involved with different release standards. Games will be delayed, rushed, come out perfect on time. Every game like there creator is different people on both sides use quotes people in life use quotes. Basically don't worry be happy there are plenty of things in life to do while starbound is in development.

 

Here it is again with the DLCs. The game isn't getting delayed guys. You people (not you dizz, I'm addressing everyone) just made me stay up till 3 AM. I have Geography test tomorrow. =_=

 

so long as I eventually get the game I don't care I payed for what I saw and what I saw of gameplay and such is worth the price I payed to begin with anything more in my mind is above and beyond what I payed for no matter how long the wait.

 

The bottom line is this: The developers have said release will be in 2013. We've still got 2 1/4(?) months until 2013 ends, there's still time for their goals to be met, there's no reason to complain right now.

No, I'm not a fanboy. I read clear enough to understand the beta will come in 2013, and I'm holding the developers to it. If they miss beta on november, thats fine as there is still december.

There is no need to justify. Mistakes have been made, including the wording that development would be accelerated time release wise with funding. That has proven untrue, despite receiving supposedly a better release eventually in exchange. So have several things related to the subject Tiy brought up (delays) and Starbound itself.

You may disagree, but by no means are people trolling for speaking up about it.

Voice of Reason is ages and ages old. Way older than Skyrim.
Some people call it "White Knighting" though that carries a particular connotation. (Or "meddler", or "peace-maker", or even "care bear".)

Either way, you're trying to end debate under the premise that it bothers you; not that either side has any logical merit.
