To the fact your statement is easily mocked, and easily reformatted to another argument.

Yes, a mocking reply born from the lack of a valid argument on your part.

They've been saying "estimate" quite literally for months.

It's right there, first entry on the FAQ, in black and white. Anybody seeking a refund on the first of next year if there's no beta in sight would be perfectly justified in doing so. People need to stop bitching out at others when they say they're going to be prudent with their money.

But like I said earlier, I do kinda believe Tiy when he says the beta will be ready before then, so it'll probably be a non-issue.

I guess they forgot to put the word "Estimated release this 2013".

You realize that mocking someone is not the same as responding to their argument right?

At time of pre-purchase Zody's quote shows that we were promised beta in 2013. Promised. Guaranteed. "You give us money, we give you beta in 2013, we promise."

Now Tiy seems to be trying to claim this was an estimate, and not a promise, which is a blatant lie. How do you not take issue with that in spite of your complete failure to provide any sort of argument to the contrary but rather just mock the people who point it out?

Typical pre-ordering does not provide funding for the game's development, most games you pre-order are already pretty much finished and are going to release soon, thus Kickstarter is not akin to pre-ordering.

That being said, Starbound is neither a Kickstarter nor a typical pre-order.

A mocking reply responding to the fact that your argument can be easily re-formatted and also mocked, as well as coming off as bitchy and complaining.

    Q. How come you're doing this Kickstarter style?

    A. We're financing the game out of our own pocket and a couple of our team members have had to take on second jobs. We're hoping the preorder will allow them to work full time on Starbound and get the game to you quicker!

    In this context, pre-ordering is.

Mocking is not argumentation, mocking is avoiding argumentation which you are doing because you have no argument.

Would the statement i responded to be relevant? All it is is just mocking the developers, so mocking a mocking statement isn't exactly the most irrelevant.

Perhaps because I tire of this boring and annoying argument.

That wasn't his point, his point was to draw an analogy to something of this context.

I understand that, and I hope it will as I still look forward to the game, however 2013 was a promise when I gave them my money and now that they have it they want to claim it is an estimate. That is unacceptable.

Estimation is a pretty weird word. If I say I might go to the park today, failure to do so doesn't necessarily mean I would get sued. The estimated diameter of the observable universe is 28 billion parsecs. The outer regions are red shifted since they are so far away. But what if the observable universe was 29 billion parsecs? That beyond the redshift we can see but the planets are just dark. Not meaning the light can't get us but because there is no light. Would that be a reason to sue Russia?

Keep in mind that the calculations are based on the speed of light. The outer regions of the universe or the "unobservable universe's" light hasn't reached us yet. Meaning that my rant is wrong. I'm just saying it to prove a point. I could make other examples if you want. I have many.
