Previous release date delays

First of all - not everyone has the time to wait, so they paid for the acceleration. Secondly - the developer broke his promise and did not apologize.

 

Delays are something to be expected these days, does it make me feel good that I'll have to wait a bit longer to play the game... of course. But just remember Duke Nukem Forever wasn't the only game delayed "FoReVeR!" and turned out to be garbage, plenty of other games in history of gaming have been delayed multiple times just to have their hype factor turned into loathe factor.
Hopefully with the beta still delivered within this year, and not on December 31, 2013, will we be able to hopefully add some much needed voice and insight behind that hype that isn't second nature to just merely designs and concepts that have been tossed through local media and daily updates on the sight.
Overall, I just hope they can deliver before Terraria 2 comes out... looking forward to the beta to apply some much needed design rehashing, bug reporting, and concept rethinking.

And it seems the answer to your question about deadlines is that "they don't make deadlines so they don't dissapoint anyone." Well...not having a deadline is pretty disappointing in and of itself >.<

 

My son had a due date of June 19. He wasn't born until June 28. I see a lot of people here saying what they deserve and how angry they are about the delays, so I am curious about something.

Should I be mad at my son for not being born when they said he was born? or should I be mad at the doctor for giving me a due date?

I think that this is important because I spent a lot of sperm on that kid and expected him on the 19th.

Imagine Starbound like a Pizza. It doesn't taste good, if the dough isn't ready, does it?

 

The pizza is good, when I'm hungry or have the time to eat. And I certainly will demand money back if I do not get my pizza in the promised time.

 

And if you leave a pizza in the oven for too long, it burns, doesn't it?

All these ridiculously stupid comparisons aside, I think everyone in the entire community would be happy to hear a deadline of some kind. I don't think it's much to ask, right?

And then if something big happens to delay it, those same people pick up pitchforks anyway. So yes it is.

 

Time is ticking, besides, I do not get the main course at the promised time and do not know when I'll get the promised aperitif.
