So rather then be sensible and say why you disagree, you'd rather be rude.

Because it has been asked and answered many MANY times already.

 

The idea with closed beta for more people seems to be good
For example some copies for people who creates and updates fanpages of other countries (like this on homepage in the links box) so they could test and find bugs, speak with community about state of a game (this would depend on the team how much they can say), impressions etc.

 

If i get it early - i don't care how buggy will be beta/pre-release

The general consensus here seems to be that a totally open beta would be a bad idea because most people are stupid and they would expect a completed product. Is that about right?

I still don't see why a closed beta for a few dedicated individuals would be bad.

Right, but for other people in the community that might actually improve the game instead of simply playing it to get it early. I'd love to do it, and I've done tons of betas before, but odds are I'd just get in the way.

 

Why did Tiy bring up the idea of paid access to a beta anyway?
If it was me, and I needed help from others, I'd feel bad simply taking that help without offering something in return.
Has anyone considered that maybe they need some financial aid to help them through the final stages of development? And Tiy feels bad about taking anything without giving something back?
If Chucklefish can finish the game to a release state without going into an "open beta" stage, then all power to them. But if they need a little help, and beta access is offered in return, then yeah, I'm in. To hell with all the over-thinking, if Starbound really is as good as it looks like it's going to be, it'll sell itself. Hater's be damned ^^

The thing is that I didn't find anything. And Ken_Chihuly's post wasn't really a question. I just don't get all the negativity.
