Pre-Order Beta Confirmed!

You can't tell people that didn't want the beta to just not play it.
They would pretty much have to never go on the forums again because people would post pictures and threads about the beta.

I, myself, would rather play the full game first, but I would buy the beta to help out the devs and report bugs.
And, of course, to get a sneak peek at my most anticipated game

 

i played a couple of other preorder beta games and had the distinct "get bored of the game" syndrome pop up or in one game even see its entire game structure change. still i dont doubt that the developers will release a pretty decent beta for those that preorder.

 

I'd prefer to wait for the full version, so that all the features are there and most bugs fixed. Though I would like to make the devs notice some bug I would find

Yes, it is still possible that there will be no beta. Original quote was actually prefixed by a "maybe".

 

No one would have to avoid the forum, just the beta section that would be put up specifically for it.

 

Or the devs could have us under an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) while the beta runs its course.

 

Highly doubt that would happen.

Oh come on, think realistically.
Everyone is gonna take screenshots and post them as avatars and signatures.
And even if there is a beta section to report bugs for it, people will still discuss the beta in general discussion, talk about it in the IRC, etc.
It will be impossible to avoid spoilers unless you just don't go on the forums at all.

 

In several of the TGS Podcasts TB has stated that he's very interested in Starbound, and almost certainly will do a "Let's Play" of it with JesseCox in a similar fashion as Terraria.

As for the "WTF is..." I think it's very likely he will first ask Tyi if it's okay to make one considering his personality and the way he handles this kind of stuff. Also if Tyi is willing he may ask him to do a "WTF is..." of Starbound and explain and I'm positive that TB would agree.

Personally i buy it as soon as i can, i dont need any discount or some Bonus.Every Dev who makes in todays Times a good Game with Heart and Soul deserves good Money. Beta sounds good 2 me i want 2 play it 4 the Building and exploring part not 4 Story

Oh, and just to be clear, I'm excited for the beta and will definitely play it. I was just defending Straw Hat's point that he made earlier.

 

I want the full version of the game. Ill not play the beta. Ill wait for the finished. Space station not implemented on beta
