Oh my god yes, the music in this game is absolutely amazing !
Plus, I like how its a game of trial and error, there's no hand holding, just go explore and figure it out yourself.

 

Starbound will support Windows, Mac, and Linux at both beta and full release.

Worth the wait! Difficulty is high, but that makes it a better challenge.

 

My two cents as of now:

- Disarm is a bit far away, but my hands aren't huge so that might be my problem.

- Eel-moose-wolves are a bitch and I hate them. They have a bee breath weapon so I would hardly call them "level 1"

 

Overall it's fun thus far. There seems to be a memory leak though, I have to quit out every 30 minutes or so because it starts to run like sludge.

It's also giving me horrible eyestrain. I'm not sure why. Something about how the background animates when I move.

 

Wait, it doesn't work on Mac? I haven't gotten a chance to play it yet.

 

I was a little annoyed at the launch issues, and I was a little let down. Crashed the first time I tried to play it, and I've dug around everywhere and can't find any silver to progress.

I stepped into Starbound around thirty minutes ago as a Glitch, went down to the planet, and for the most part just stood there.

There was this simple little piano arrangement playing in the background, I don't think it's on the soundtrack that came with the preorder; nothing but the piano, playing slow, nice relaxing pauses in between each note. I dug into a nearby hill and made myself a little cottage, when it started to rain...

And I started laughing. I just laughed watching the drops splash against the purple dirt. And I felt peace, and for the first time in a long time I felt hope. Hope.

 

Everything works like a charm. The very first thing my apex scientist found was the shark-hat. Now he looks like an evil monkey-scientist.

 

It's not working for some Mac users but we're working on the problem, promise!

 

I only got to play about 18 minutes because I'm on Mac and the game crashed when I fired the hunting bow, but I absolutely loved the brief time I had with it, and I'm looking forward to playing more once the issue is fixed.

If you ever do programming or software development, you'll be very surprised at the sort of obvious-seeming issues that can fly under radar. I know it's annoying, but it's the very first iteration of the beta. If anyone went in this early without being prepared for major technical issues, they're not doing themselves any favors.

well my first thought on the game are somewhat disappointing. i think the game itself is awesome like i always thought but the fact that im not able to play it right with only 5-15 fps makes me sad
