Closed Possible starmap screen bug.

After the update (enraged koala), I noticed that there isn't an icon or option to choose the Alpha sector on the starmap screen on your ship. Created multiple new characters to test this. If you leave Alpha sector you apparently cant revisit it. Is this only happening to me for some reason, or are you guys also experiencing this problem?

This is something i just noticed as well. It is only on the new character I created and not on my (corrupted) one from furious. His map works just fine.

 

I don't have the alpha icon either.

 

So, not only can I not set an alpha homeworld on a fresh toon as my "home"... I can't even go there if I put in the coordinates manually.

 

I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the Lua list syntax issue that's bugging the containers.

 

So, here is a strange issue that I tried to google up but to no avail...

I can't seem to jump to the Alpha sector. I started out in a new multiplayer world with my MK3 and 4 upgrade, but when I went to go try to jump back to Alpha, it was not an option on my Navigation.

Help? Anyone else with the same issues? Am I just missing something?

 

As a quick fix, I created a small mod that adds an engine upgrade which re-unlocks the alpha sector. To make it survival-friendly, It's crafted at the anvil with two iron bars and 100 pixels.

For those who haven't installed a mod yet, simply unzip the mod into your Starbound/mods directory and restart the game.

 

are the devs gonna make an official update to fix this no alpha sector icon or do we have to result to the above mod to fix it? Because I'm afraid if I use the mod it might not be compatible with future koala updates which can cause more bugs/harm?

This only happened when I started the game up after the enraged kola update and my shiplocker was gone so I had to create a new toon. But my new toon doesn't have the alpha sector icon. My old toon wthout the shiplocker has the alpha sector icon though which is really weird. All subsequent toons I make doesn't have the alpha sector icon.

Someone in charge plz respond back as I'm not sure if I should continue with the new toons because I do not have an alpha sector to go back too if I progress with the new toon, and progressing with my old toon will not have a shiplocker!!

 

thank you, guess I'll jsut wait it out before progressing anymore since all my new toons don't have the alpha sector icon and all my old toons dont have a shiplocker ;_;

 

Just a note, this isn't the case with only new toons. My toon started after the Furious Koala patch and was just starting out on a new server (joined a multiplayer open server) and it had this issue. On any server that it was on previous to the last update, it still has the Alpha Sector icon. This seems to be the case with any of the toons that I have that start out on any server after the Valentines day update.

Also, another bug that I noticed along with not being able to travel back to the alpha sector once I go to others, is that I cannot set a home planet.

Another person on the same server had their home planet reset.

They fixed it with a recent update. Did you update your game the past few days?

 

Yep

New and old chars miss it. I will try to fix it with mods
