Positive Discussion Thread

So many thread's I've visited in the last twenty minutes (more so then than before) have been entirely negative. Complaining about something that the devs are probably going to fix, or enhance, or etc, can we have a thread about the positive things we find in the game?


I found a wizard hat, and thusly I became the Librarian.

 

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh. Their going to find you. And they will argue with you whether you like it or NOT.

 

This game period. I've had nothing but positive experiences with it so far. And they've already updated more than Cube World, so hurray for that!

Just so long as it is about the things that make the game good, they can argue all day.

 

So far, I love how many planets there are that can be visited and how much more there will be in the future for us to explore. So much exploring that makes me really happy so far. I am enjoying the game itself in a whole. I have enjoyed the devs as well showing what they are working on, on streams and how they are seeing all of the new things people are making and adding things to the game just the same.

 

This is a given one, but I feel it needs to be said because many games ignore this option: I love that this game allows me to play as a girl. So many games don't let you, even when gender is not essential to the plot.

A perhaps more relevant one to this specific game, I love that the archetypes for the races have been flipped. The apes are intelligent, the plants aren't hippy-dippy peace lovers, the robots aren't advanced, etc.

 

I'm alright with complaints. My issue is the hostility that most people seem to have in asserting their complaints or opinions. Civility is for the weak, I guess. I really enjoy the game, I'm just waiting for the update tonight. I'm a particular fan of the 3D printer. It keeps me from having to hunt down all the awesome objects I find.

 

I examined prison stocks. My floran giggled.

 

Positive discussion threads never last more than a page. Negative ones go on endlessly. I agree with Feloneous... some civility is in dire need

 

Wait hold up, did you just make a Pagemaster reference?

 

Complaints and criticism are great, but positive feedback is just as essential to the development process as constructive criticism. I don't think this thread is saying that criticism shouldn't happen, but that it's useful for the devs to hear the positives along with the negatives.

 

I'm really looking forward to the wipe so I can start again. I've held off from playing so that I can break any attachment I had to my current character. I'm also really looking forward to the new game balance as well as how I progress now that I've got a good feel for the game.

 

That's why we need a real bugtracker. Most of us really care about helping out with fixing and improving bugs, but I think people in general have no idea if any of the discussions in the forums are even being watched by devs. They never participate. So, just like when you're sick and don't know what's wrong, you have a tendency to mentally build your problem into something bigger than it is... so it is with this... people don't know what's going on, so they build the problems into bigger ones. We need a feedback system from the devs, and I'll get on the soapbox all day for a real bug tracking system.

I enjoy the NPC lines, though I hope that NPC interaction will be much expanded. I was disappointed that I couldn't take that Avian with me that said "lets go to space together". Though it was quite funny when a female Glitch told my female glitch something along the lines of "you have beautiful eyes."

 

I found wizzard pants. Admittedly not as cool, but a close call.

 

I found a floating airship and then proceeded to kill every npc onboard. Yay! That was the highlight of my adventures so far, except maybe the Avian village I found. I killed all of them too. This is the best game Ive ever played!

 

I have slaughtered countless avians across the Alpha sector, I have wondered to myself why they set up camp in my sector but the more I kill the less I care, oooo and I found a wizard's outfit, I was a wizard with a gun for a bit, until I found a ear'd hood, now I am the ear'd hooded bandit of the Alpha Sector

 

There's just something so incredibly satisfying about chasing down mobs of screaming, panicking Avians with a spear!
On a side note, I'm glad I noticed what I had typed before I hit post. My auto correct changed Avians to Asians. That would have been bad
