It would be really cool if the developers implemented a new tool for mining! Pickaxe? Every sandbox game ever that has mining probably has pickaxes. Drills? Terraria has already done that. I suggest that a new mining tool be created. A sort of... handheld mining laser, if you will. Maybe it could... destroy one block at a time, but at very high speeds, have a semi-long range (maybe 10 blocks?) and be craftable at every tier similar to pickaxes and drills (copper, iron, silver, gold, steel, etc). Each one would require 1-3 diamonds, to focus the beam. This would be a much more futuristic method of mining, and more original than pickaxes and drills. Maybe it could even replace drills. What do you think?
