with my old rig i had bad performance on starbound. never more than 50 fps and most times 30-35
    my old rig was
    Phenom II x4 3,4 Ghz
    8Gb DDR3 1333 Mhz Ram
    Gtx 560 ti Oc.

Now i have a whole new pc
Xeon 1231 v3 @ 3,4Ghz ( Do not talk about the reason beeing the CPU cuz its essentially a i7 4770 without the integrated Graphics)
    16 Gb DDR3 1600MHz Ram
    Gtx 970

and my performance in starbound on upbeat giraffe is only slightly better.
i never have more then 60 Fps even though V-Sync is off and most times it dips down to 40 Fps

A buddy of mine with nearly the Same rig has always 60-80 Fps
We even compared our Nvidia settings and have all the same
we both tried it on Direct x and Open Gl

    Same result.

    Im really getting annoyed.

I don't understand this post... So confusing... 60fps is all you really need, anything beyond that is practically wasted... Having more does not really improve the game visually... Not far as I know.

Plus you mentioned every spec except Operating system...

Is your computer 32-bit or 64-bit...

There is a new launcher for linux and windows 64 bit systems in their respective folders now. You might want to try that if on a x64 system.

Note: I understand the specs, what I don't understand is the logic behind the complaint.... Sorry if that sounds rude, but that is how I see it being confusing to me. Anyway figured I at least point out something to try if you updated that is.

Heh, at least you got it working. I get spammed with access violations since the update. And then my friend gets an infinite loading screen. :p
60 FPS should indeed be fine, though...

If you don't have it already, set your Zoom setting at 3X. At least on my end, framerate tanks if I put it at 2X

i dont complain about having 60 fps stable. the point is i dont have stable 60 fps. they dip down to 35 and 40 and whatever every now and then. i know im using the 64 bit version anyway since im using windows 7 64 bit. and only to give you some thoughts about it. i prefer having more then 60 fps since im a competitive gamer. you cant visually see any difference but you feel it with your mousemovement. playing ( for example cs with 120 fps feels much better than 60 fps)

hmm... well don't know what to say of it if you are using 64 bit already. That was the only thing I could think of. I don't think playing from steam uses the 64 bit version, but directly does. That is something I really don't know.

Still I may not understand, but at least it is a decent reasoning. Makes sense in that respects. I myself just not that degree of gaming or have that in mind. My game doesn't really jump much, but I am sure it sits around 40 ish, and I am on a lower end in comparison to your computer. For me I may notice this or that, but appears to run smoothly. I guess I don't really pay attention to, or rather shrug off what I do notice; which is minimal. Anyway thanks for clearing that up.:)

today after the patch i have stable 67 fps in every situation even at the outpost.

and i always used the 2x zoom. using a lower level zoom doesnt have any performance increased for me anyway. but since its now stable 67 fps i can live with that
