  1. Yeah there is serious issues in Furious #636, the nightmare of server admins

I don't have any framerate issues, but the monsters seem to jump and move around very slowly. I'm playing by myself, not doing anything crazy. No mods, no other programs running.

FX-6300 at 4.1 GHz, GTX 660, 4 gigs DDR3, 7200 RPM hard drive. I have no issues with other games, and Starbound didn't have this problem when I played it like a month ago.

Try run it in both normal and OpenGL Mode, see if there is any difference. If it runs more smoothly in OpenGL, it could be a driver or incompatibility.

Sounds like the server's end. It's having horrible performance problems, even with Furious 636.

It isn't really. I have the same issue, tried both executables and still have the slow moving/stuttering with monsters. In Singleplayer. No tool or file to fix it yet. The old compatibility .dll obviously crashed the game, all the settings in my Nvidia control panel etc. are adjusted as recommended. The diagnostics tool doesn't return anything useful as well. There was a Server hotfix yesterday that was supposed to remove the stuttering in Multiplayer though. Maybe I should try playing on a dedicated Server...

Did you try turning off Threaded optimization for starbound in your Nvidia control panel?

Thanks for the reply. I did exactly that, yes. And it fixed all the issues I had with Angry Koala. Now it seems I'm back to the start. I even checked if the settings were somehow reset, but no luck.

Running the game as Admin worked for me - no lags anymore

If you run things as Admin, you are NEVER allowed to make ANY comment about any company or operating system doing anything insecure ever again.

I also don't want to see any posts from you about Starbound hanging at the Loading screen.

I have noticed stuttering too, unusually smooth graphics followed by laggy graphics and everything in between.

I have the same problem. My character moves fine, but the monsters or the items really slow and stuttering. Even when I have 30 fps. But sometimes I don't have, at the same place, feels like coding issue to me, but I'm not expert. Like I load the game and played some, slowly from 30 fps got to 7-10 fps, beamed back to my ship, got same 7-10 fps. I relaunched the game, same 7-10 fps. Relaunched it again without Steam completely, got 30 fps. But the Steam overlay is off. So I really don't know whats wrong.
