Outdated Ponybound v0.06

Hello all,
I'm pretty much a total noob to installing mods in Starbound, so I'm sorry for any stupid questions
(I looked up mod installing guides but they all say OUTDATED now so I'm a bit clueless)

As far as I know, the current process for installing mods such as these simply involves putting the mod folder (in this case, "Pony") in the Starbound/mods folder.

I downloaded ponyfix2 from the link provided on page 12 of this thread, as I saw that was the version made to work in Furious Koala, and copied that folder (Pony) into my Starbound/mods folder, but when I started the game and clicked New Character, I only had the default 6 races to choose from.

Should I have downloaded the V0.6 of Ponybound, and THEN overwritten that folder with the ponyfix2 files to make v0.6 compatible with Furious Koala?

Do I need to edit any config files w/notepad to 'activate' or 'load' the mod?

Do I need another mod to enable me to choose a custom race like Ponybound in addition to the default races?

Am I just an idiot?

I did fix one thing that was bugging me a lot last night. The default unicorn pony it shows is lyra. But, you can't make lyra because that eye color isn't in the mod. So my lyra had green eyes. I hope they don't mind, but I added in yellow eyes to the ponies. I know I said I wouldn't, but the eye color is based off the lyra image at the character create screen.

The pony folder should have all you need to run the mod. But you may need a race slot expander, I use this one http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?resources/odb2-character-creation-mod.1241/

 

Thank you, that allows me to choose Unicorn Earth Pony and Pegasus as separate races but it works so that is what matters =D

 

They are separate races. It is meant to work that way. So it seems like it's now working the way it should for you. c:

 

Yeah in retrospect that should have been obvious, I was just so glad to be able to play this mod!
I didn't want to use it in the last version and be sad when my character was deleted in the wipe, so I waited for Furious Koala and then the waiting continued, I'm so glad you all were able to update it to the new version =D

Otherwise I might have gone nuts from lack of Pony. xD I love playing my Avian character but sometimes being a pone is where it's at.

The only thing non-awesome about the mod is when I examine things with the magnifying glass tool, a mouth appears behind my pony's eye and it looks really creepy! Same with using the arrow keys that make other races make facial expressions, it makes a weird creepy mouth pop up on a weird spot on my head @_@

 

This mod was awesome and one of the main reasons I enjoyed this game. Sad that there has not been any update or much activity from the author for awhile.

Not from the author, but this fix allows you to play the mod in the new version (Furious Koala) I just installed it for the first time a few days ago and works great:

 

the armor's are pretty nifty too, although, I might've made the first one something CMC like

 

Armor? You mean the invisible stuff? Sometimes playing as the ponies I find outfits or armor and its a real let down I can't show them off. And how boss would it be to have armor set/or clothes like this?



Where gold is guard armor, titanium is chrystal guard armor, sombra armor is durasteel.

if you notice the ponies never, ever blink. And in da code eyes are under facial mask. So Here's Fluttershy.

... Would it be a decent suggestion to have a forum on somewhere SPECIFICALLY for Ponybound? Organize people's suggestions, look for ways to help with the coding, all that nifty stuff...

 

Heliostorm was online last Saturday. and they made the mod. So maybe they are updating a lot of stuff. Still fun messing around before they update. Today I did a pinkamena mane. But the lower ends of the pony manes don't seem able to go ontop of the pony bodies.

 

Applejack's and Rarity's armors from It's a Dangerous Business could be potential armor candidates, as well as the full body armors in the Castle-Mania episode. I'm a decent pixel artist, maybe I'll whip something up. But I'm am lazy... hmm. Curses.

 

Ponex has fluttershy's bunny armor, future twilight's suit, and pinkie's spy outfit/



Braeburn's leather armor might be the easiest because nothing goes on the legs. So no part of it should need to animate I guess.

the armor is not invisiible. there's some unactivated tiered armor in the pony files, been there for awhile now, I activated it and tried it out.

 

That sounds interesting, I was looking in armor yesterday, but only at cutie marks.

 

One tough part about the armors is probably that you have to work around the mane, not just turn it off, otherwise you lose the tail when you put on a helmet. Anyways here are some armors I've been working on. If there is anything wrong with the bases (like a bad palette), I'd rather know before working on animations?
