Perhaps the older species had a skull better suited for a larger, more complex brain, but said skull wasn't present in the human-like Apex as they had no need for a brain more complex than what they already had.
Going back to this evolutionary stage would allow for a larger more complex brain

Hylotl. No matter how much I fiddle with character creation, I can't find anything I like at all. It will be interesting to see some possible underwater villages though as a result of them.

A year ago I would have probably said Apex but they've really grown on me since then, lore and character design.

 

Pretty much this but with Glitch instead.
It's a shame too, because other than that I quite like their concept.

 

Human will be the last one for me to pick, im bored of humans.

 

I wonder why so many people voted for Apex as least favorite.
They're like humans which decided they didn't need to develop physically and only intelligently; except it has gone horribly wrong and twisted their society into a totalitarian dystopia. And you might get to be part of the revolutionary group that gets crushed under the power of the government.

Exactly, although my first character will be Glitch I'll definately play an Apex eventually, their backstory really appeals to me

Apex, definitely. I don't want to play as a character I think is ugly.

 

Lots of negative energy in this thread, but I do hope it stays unlocked. Seeing these opinions is very interesting.

Unfortunately I am also throwing in my vote with Apex. On the whole they're just not appealing to my interest as much as the others. I think that might change a little once racial backstories are soldified, and we get a glimpse of what became of the Apex resistance. Until such a time I have to judge on aesthetics and lore.

Apex is my least favorite simply because I don't want to play as an ape. I have no problems with anything else.
