Q: Will the Novakids emit a glow in-game because they're made of plasma? Or will they be like everyone else?
A by Tiyuri: They'll emit a feint glow, they won't light up a cave however.

Q: Is it an innate thing, or the effects of a "race armor" like the other races ?
A By Omnipotent Entity: Well, all players emit a very faint glow that lights up themselves. Anything more will probably be an effect of a race armor. Not sure though. This is still really new and I was working on other things while it was being discussed.

But honestly since every race can wear every armor it wouldn't be fair to make one race just plain better when naked.

Well, to be 100% honest, I never had 'too' much trouble with water in Terraria since you can dig out physics holes in order to regain your air supply. However, there's no guarantee that will be an option in Starbound and even if it is, not having to worry about air whilst swimming is just a convenience I'd love to have.

Also LastDay, thank you for posting that. Very much appreciated.

I recall seeing a video where water was draining from a hole in the backwall, so it may be even easier than before. I got the impression that water actually had to be in a container within the terrain itself, unlike straight 2D containers like Terraria. That may be removed by now for all I know.

Inventory management is fun not only do kids not what ammo they want only one item what is the fun in that?

But that doesn't apply here, since you can swim without any equipment in starbound. Since you already can swim there is basically no need to fear drowning and such, unlike terraria where large bodies of water was a deathtrap.

well for anyone who played terraria enough would know the classic terraria delema of that flooded cave that you spend 2 hours trying to empty it using whatever tactics you can to do the job in that case hylotl would have it easy
EDIT:if you want a lot of energy in the day at least then the floren would have a better time for combat and face eating:up:

  10. Let me try and answer your question.

Inventory management doesn't refer to the diversity of items. It refers to the action of organizing items, moving them around, deciding which to keep and which to drop, etc.

Having more inventory space makes it so that you have to do these actions less often, and can take more items with you. This means that you have to make less trips to your base to drop off your collected loot.

This bonus isn't as fun as the others but it is so useful.
Whats better than a gun? Many guns! ...and the ability to carry them all!

I'm more looking forward to the idea of not having to surface for air every 20 seconds (give or take) than simply swimming faster than normal.

Taking into consideration things we already know about the game, we know for certain that there will be ocean planet biomes and according to Tiy's latest update, frozen ocean planet biomes. These will be entire planets mostly dedicated to underwater exploration, combat and mining. It's a relatively safe bet that unless you have the capacity to breathe underwater or at least prolong your underwater immersion, the exploration of these planets would be severely limited.

While we know for a fact that eventually all races will have the ability to explore the deep, starting the game with the ability to craft the gear that allows me to do so sounds extremely appealing. It opens up entire new planet biomes from the getgo to explore that the other races simply might not have access too and that to me seems like it could potentially be a huge advantage.

I for one intend to make an ocean planet my home planet if possible. Fish people deserve a nice home! :)

The Avian and Apex armor bonuses might break some adventure maps. Oh well.

  19. Uh...
Only if the map GIVES the armor to them.
