[Poll] Blocking Bosses

    So, I've seen a lot of discussion abou this lately and I would like to have an idea of what the players think about it in a more general sense. Just to be clear, this poll is about the current ability to block bosses with dirt/whatever blocks to keep them from moving and then killing them through the wall.

    This is possible, but not necessary.

    The way I see it, you either nerf bosses and remove blocking or keep it the way it is.

    I'll just repost this here.

    Well let's look at it this way. If you work for the weapons and armor you need and then fight the boss legitimately through lots of kiting and skillful dodging and someone else just spawns the boss inside a tiny dirt box and hits him from complete safety outside the box, it kinda cheapens the win you worked for huh? It falls in the same category as the micro-transactions in things like Forza recently. You don't want to spend hours of your life working for that rarest car only to have some random Joe Schmoe take the easy way out and spend five minutes just buying it. You don't want to spend hours working towards the goal of defeating a boss only to have someone else cheese it in 10 minutes.

    It's not something I think should be in the game at release. It's a rather cheap tactic to wall someone in and stab them through it. Maybe give enemies some ability to move through blocks without damaging them.

    There are no leader boards, so it affects you how? Someone figured out how to build an arena and beat it faster, diminishing your experience because, what? It shrunk your Epeen?

    The problem with Forza, from every report I've heard, is some of the cars cost more than the game. That and the idea of micro(macro) transactions in a full price title is abhorrent. I don't see the point you're making there.

    It's the same concept. In both cases one person put in a lot of work to get something and another person put in little to no work to get the same thing. It's not fair to the person who actually put in the work to allow stuff to be obtained so lazily.

    Then they would fall through the world, maybe if they could beak blocks there stuck on, like the Wither Boss from Minecraft

    Yeah like maybe check that if an enemy hasn't moved for a specific amount of time and jumping doesn't free it then it smashes blocks in front of it and above it until it's loose.

    Well hitting through a wall is a bug... so... once its fixed there is no problem.

    A dev never programs a weapon to deliberately strike through a wall.

    Yeah, but sadly that means players could trap them withing a large amount of blocks, (underground) and have a 3 tall hole for the player that the boss cant fit in, and as the boss is breaking blocks towards the player, the player walks backwards in the tunnel, and hitting/shooting the boss at the same time :/

    God, i just hope they dont end up being able to go through blocks like Terraria, at least the Walking bosses...

    I don't think they should actually brake brake them. Just damage them to 99% and then walk through them. If they wanted. You don't want enemies braking blocks because that could lead to them messing up your base.

    It's not necessarily restricted with melee weapons only. You can create a 1 block hole and shoot the bosses through it and it has limited means to attack you back, if at all. There is a reason why slime king and golem are considered easy bosses for their stage (slime king is excusable as being an intro boss but golem is virtually end game)

    Terraria has tons of weapons that go through blocks. Your assertion is false.

    No, let them break the blocks, thats why you shouldent fight them near your base, or if you REALLY want, designate a planet as your "Boss Fighting Planet"

    Cheating to beat the single player campaign of a mainly multi player doesn't really count. You get no benefit from beating it aside from entertainment.
