Please don't make this game a 2013 release.

I know this sounds impatient, but we've been waiting on the game since it's original prospected release of late summer/early fall. I know that everything has to be ironed out, but we at least want something to play with until more updates appear. I really hope we can get the game in December. It might not happen, but I can dream. Also, the more features that are constantly added, the more time it takes to near the release date. The game is sure to get updated, so I wouldn't worry about making everything too perfectly fleshed out and epic for the first release. Minecraft wasn't like that. I don't really know much about Terraria's original release build because I didn't play it, but I know they expanded the game a lot. It will make the updates all the more pleasing. Could we at least play alpha/beta so that the fans can give more feedback? We're currently at mercy to the producers. We can only give feedback on videos and screenshots.

 

Of course with every thread concerning the developers releasing the game quicker, comes with people against it.

If you've seen the game being live streamed by the developers, it is still very clunky.
You're saying that they should release it and then continue adding content, since they're gonna do that anyways, correct?
The only problem is that, the roots of the game aren't finished and polished yet.

 

So, like a Minecraft Alpha stage? I'd like to fiddle with that.

 

Minecraft was a rather simple game, not as complex as StarBound.
I'd say around or less than the indev stages of Minecraft.

 

Yeah, we've already seen water flow and blocks being placed. How can that not be ready to toy with?

 

To answer the beta question:

Suggestions are here to alter, add or improve on the processes that are currently going on. You could say that I am deliberately challenging the devs' way of thinking on beta.

You've been waiting since Late Summer? I think you need to be a bit more patient. Some of us, like myself, have been waiting since around January, give or take a month. And I still wouldn't mind a January 2013 release, and I'm actually predicting it to be one.

Those dates are just placeholders for people like you to stop spamming forums around. Not triying to be rude, but im tired of those threads. The current combat is pretty much inexistant, compared to what they told us. Also mob behaviors. I be been since february, being one of the oldest members, and i survived. Cant you?

I just hope the game is released during christmas break so I have weeks to play it
And I am patient, I understand if the release was pushed to 2013, I mean, look at how much content there already is, and they are only about 60% done (Probably not even).

I got news for you, they have no obligation, fiscally, morally, or personally to release the game in anything even nearing a "reasonable time frame".
They could release in 2026 if they wanted to, though luck.

They're spending longer on the game to make a better game, some of us actually like purchasing a complete product.

Well, my guess, I repeat GUESS, is the same as the devs. If they think end of the year, I think end of the year.
After all, they have access to the game, so they know what needs to be done, and how long it will take.

However, I won't hold them to it, and if there was no dev inflinfluence, then I would say mid-January.

 

I'm growing impatient as well, been waiting for this game for a long time. So I have searched around for a release date, the last thing I heard was that Tiy and possibly the devs want the release to be near the end of 2012. That should mean that the game is polished and almost ready around new year, at least from how it sounds like.

Ok... So I guess I should expect the game to be released by the end of 2014. Anyways, just wanted to share.
