For the most part you have excelled in your learning. But a few comments I need to make: You ventured into the dark without looking where you were going, and bumped into monsters. Not all monsters are aggressive, but the meat is important. I am proud you have a pickax. You "bunkered" but shooting through a hole to get at an aggressive monster. Get all the vines for bandages. Other comments, don't use dirt, but rather platforms, so you you don't have to accidentally hit your head on dirt blocks on the way out, but they do come in handy to prevent falling when you go to those deeper chasms. I had an idea. Do you have fellow Starbounders to play with? When you are finished with these series of starting off, it would be fun to play and post vids on your group experiences. Of course a server is required, but it may help me with lag issues. I'll be willing to join in your crew if that happens.
I don't have any yet but I was planning on starting a series like that eventually yes! That would be awesome to do if you were up for it as well!
I am glad you found out prety quickly that human bases are usually hostile: 100% of the ones I met are always hostile. Therefore, be ready at all times.

Are you sure? I thought you would lose a percentage of pixels. That was one of the details if you chose spawn. You would lose some pixels, the second choice is stuff and pixels, and of permadeath You should show an epic fight with you against the UFO. Trust me, build a tall bell-shaped dome. If they crashed to the side, I will guarantee it that it will get stuck because it has a roof on it. Add several floors in the bell too to increase your chances of it getting stuck. Once that happens, stab away I think it will boost your ratings if you show it in your vid, because of how easy and funny it is--add the silly commentary and jokes and you'll be golden (in my opinion).
