player light

so the small light around the player is cool, it makes it so I can find where I am when its dark
but my friend opened a server for us and I was trying to sneak into his base when it became dark.
the problem is he could see the light I gave off so I was unsuccessful, multiple times

I was wondering if it was possible to make it so only the player can see their own light, or possibly an option to turn it off

 

There's no way to turn it off for Multiplayer.

 

First question;
Why were you trying to sneak into his base?

But really now, you couldn't have tried sneaking in while he was..you know..out of the base?

 

because I could do it in terraria, and im a ninja
and he did leave, then he came back and I hid in a dark hole and the light gave me away... light is my enemy
